Former Bulls forward Andres Nocioni has agreed to a two-year contract with Real Madrid. He'll fill a need at the forward position left by the departure of PF Nikola Mirotic, who is close to signing his first NBA contract with the Bulls. Nocioni hasn't played in the NBA since 2011-12 and it's safe to assume we won't see him in uniform in the U.S. again.

Andres Nocioni has signed a deal to play in Spain for the remainder of the season. Nocioni will play for Caja Laboral for the remainder of the year and it is unknown if he will ever make it back to the NBA.

The Sixers bought out Andres Nocioni's contract on Friday. The veteran forward played just four minutes in March, and the arrival of Sam Young signaled the end of his usefulness for the Sixers. It's possible that he'll latch on to another team's roster for the rest of the season, but he holds no interest in fantasy leagues.

Nocioni said that insurance would have been complicated and very expensive for the team, and he couldn't wait for that process to unfold. He said, "I love basketball, I need to play." The Sixers can't be happy with his decision in case he gets hurt, but he's not a long-term part of Philadelphia's plans.

Andres Nocioni has signed a one-month contract with Penarol in Argentina. Nocioni will play for a very small base salary after his insurance was taken care of by the team. The club is hoping he will stay until the lockout lifts, but for now his deal will just be of the short-term variety.

Kate Fagan makes a compelling case that the 76ers might use their amnesty clause on Andres Nocioni, who is owed $6.7 million in 2011-12, with a team option the following year. The bloated contracts of Elton Brand and Andre Iguodala both stand out, but as Fagan argues that "this amnesty clause is there to be used on players producing at very low percentages of their contract value." Nocioni averaged just 6.1 points and 3.1 rebounds in 54 appearances last season, whereas Brand and Iguodala were both productive (and might actually be tradeable). It's at least interesting to consider while we wait for the new CBA.
