Nurse has shown a willingness to occasionally use Bona alongside Embiid at times, but with Trendon Watford and Kelly Oubre recently returning from injuries, the 76ers could be less inclined to deploy Bona at power forward in future contests.

Bona played 26 minutes as the backup center behind Joel Embiid, with Andre Drummond moving out of the rotation. Bona has now played at least 26 minutes in two straight games, even sharing the floor with Embiid during Tuesday's win. While this doesn't make him a must-roster player, it does put him in the streaming discussion, if and when Embiid misses time.

Bona accumulated 11 points (3-4 FG, 5-6 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and four blocks over 28 minutes off the bench during Sunday's 129-104 loss to Oklahoma City.

The 28 minutes were a season high for Bona, who has been getting extra run of late while Joel Embiid deals with nagging lower-body injuries, including a sprained ankle that kept him in street clothes Sunday. The second-year center has played at least 15 minutes in four of the last five games, recording double-digit points with eight boards twice and racking up a total of eight blocks, but his role and production are too inconsistent to make him anything more than a DFS punt play in most fantasy formats.

The 76ers recalled Bona from the G League's Delaware Blue Coats on Tuesday, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.

With Joel Embiid looking healthier and Andre Drummond comfortably ahead of Bona on the depth chart, this move makes sense for the 76ers with the team looking to maximize his reps.

Bona offered very little yet again, basically summing up his season to this point. While there had been some hope he would step into a sizable role following a knee injury to Andre Drummond, those hopes were dashed when Drummond returned to the lineup almost immediately. Even with Joel Embiid (knee) missing time, Bona should be treated as a blocks specialist and nothing more.

Bona started the second half of Friday's game with Andre Drummond exiting with a knee injury, and he fell just one block shy of matching his career-high.
