Naylor went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
The Guardians generated all four of their runs in the seventh inning, highlighted by Naylor's three-run home run off Brock Stewart. Naylor is now up to four home runs on the season (two of which have come over his last two games), and he has an .842 OPS with one stolen base, seven runs scored and nine RBI over his last 15 games.

Steven Matz

Matz didn't factor into the decision in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Reds, allowing five hits over four scoreless innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.
EDGE Analysis
The southpaw may not have been available for a full workload after working in relief Saturday, but Matz gave the Cards 73 pitches (55 strikes) in an impressive outing, including 26 called or swinging strikes. He's been brilliant in a swingman role to begin the season, posting a 1.50 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 20:3 K:BB through 24 innings. If St. Louis sticks with a six-man rotation into May, Matz would line up to make his next start at home early next week against the Pirates.

Manager Rob Thomson said Wednesday that Suarez (back) will return from the injured list to start Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Suarez has been on the injured list since the start of the season due to a back injury that appeared during spring training. He began a rehab assignment April 10, during which he's given up two earned runs while striking out 24 batters across 16.2 innings over four starts. His impressive performance in the minors will give him plenty of momentum heading into his season debut against MLB's sixth-highest scoring offense.
Emmanuel Clase RP CLE Wed 4/30/25 9:52 PM
Emmanuel Clase
RP CLE
Clase earned the save in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Twins, allowing one run on two hits while striking out three in the ninth inning. He did not issue a walk.
EDGE Analysis
Clase got the call for the ninth inning to protect a three-run lead. He struck out two of the first three batters faced, and after giving up a run on a wild pitch, fanned Kody Clemens to come away with the save. It was Clase's first save since April 19, but Wednesday marked the sixth time that he has given up at least one earned run in 14 outings this season. He's up to a 6.75 ERA, 1.95 WHIP and 14:3 K:BB across 13.1 innings in 2025 and will continue to split closing duties with Cade Smith.

Victor Scott
CF/RF STL
Scott went 2-for-3 with a walk, a three-run home run and a stolen base in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
He then went 1-for-4 with an RBI in the nightcap. Scott's homer in the matinee came in the ninth inning off Alexis Diaz, kicking off a back-to-back-to-back set of long balls for the Cards that broke open a 1-0 contest. The blast was the second of the season for the 24-year-old center fielder, while the steal was his 10th in 10 attempts over 28 games, to go along with a .271/.336/.406 slash line.

Brooks Lee
2B/SS/3B MIN
Lee went 1-for-2 with one walk and a solo homer in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Guardians.
EDGE Analysis
Lee gave the Twins their first run of the game in the eighth inning, when he took Hunter Gaddis deep to right-center field for a solo home run. Lee has recorded at least one hit in seven of his last nine games, and over that span he has gone 10-for-26 with three walks, two runs scored, one home run and three RBI.
Drew Rasmussen P TB Wed 4/30/25 9:39 PM
Drew Rasmussen
P TB
Rasmussen (1-2) took the loss Wednesday against the Royals after allowing three runs on six hits and one walk in five innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
For the sixth time in as many starts to begin the season, Rasmussen hurled at least five innings Wednesday. However, the right-hander gave up a season-high six hits and fanned a season-low three. The Rays appear to be monitoring Rasmussen's workload after he missed nearly 15 months from 2023 to 2024 following elbow surgery, considering the hurler has yet to reach the 90-pitch marker in any of his six outings this year. He sports a 2.64 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 30:7 K:BB over his first 30.2 innings of the campaign ahead of his next appearance, currently projected for next week in a difficult task versus the Phillies.
Masyn Winn SS STL Wed 4/30/25 9:39 PM
Masyn Winn
SS STL
Winn went 2-for-3 with two walks, two solo home runs and a stolen base in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
The 23-year-old shortstop hadn't gone yard since he hit his first homer of the year April 7, but Winn crushed a Brady Singer sinker to left field in the first inning before capping a back-to-back-to-back set of long balls off Alexis Diaz in the ninth. Winn then went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored in the nightcap. Since returning from back trouble about a week ago, he's gone 9-for-28 (.321) over the last eight games.

Luis L. Ortiz
P CLE
Ortiz did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's win over the Twins, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out five over 6.1 scoreless innings.
EDGE Analysis
Ortiz retired the side in three of his innings Wednesday and finished with 10 whiffs and 16 first-pitch strikes on 90 pitches (56 strikes). It was Ortiz's first scoreless start of the season and has fanned 31 batters over his last four outings. He has a 4.78 ERA and 1.41 WHIP over 32 innings this season, and he'll look get back to a .500 record in his next start, which is tentatively slated for next week on the road against the Nationals.
Noah Cameron P KC Wed 4/30/25 9:35 PM
Noah Cameron
P KC
Cameron (1-0) earned the win Wednesday against the Rays after allowing one hit and five walks in 6.1 scoreless innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Making his major-league debut, Cameron fired six-plus innings of one-hit ball despite struggling with his control. The left-hander took a no-hit bid into the seventh frame, but Curtis Mead broke it up to bring Cameron's impressive night to an end. It's possible Wednesday was just a spot start for Cameron, as Cole Ragans (groin) has been able to avoid the injured list to this point. However, Cameron's next turn in the rotation does tentatively line up for next week versus the White Sox, who entered Wednesday ranked last in batting average (.208), so he would have plenty of streaming appeal in the event that Ragans isn't ready to start.
