EDGE Analysis
Eflin was excellent Friday, blanking Detroit over his final 5.2 frames after allowing a solo home run to Kerry Carpenter in the first. However, the right-hander wound up taking a loss as the Orioles didn't record a hit until the ninth inning in a 1-0 shutout defeat. Eflin's now dropped back-to-back outings though he's gone 5-2 with a 2.22 through seven starts since joining Baltimore at the trade deadline. Overall, Eflin sports a 3.55 ERA with a 1.13 WHIP and 128:18 K:BB across 154.2 innings between the Orioles and Rays this season. He's currently lined up to face the Giants at home. in his next start.

Eflin coughed up two solo homers and was lifted at 91 pitches after allowing a run on three hits in the sixth inning. It was the 30-year-old's first loss with the Orioles and ended a streak of five consecutive quality-start victories since he debuted with the club July 29. Eflin returned from a brief stint on the injured list and showed no signs of rust. He rolled through six shutout frames before the Rockies finally pushed a run home in the seventh inning. Eflin forced 18 whiffs, including 13 with his curveball. He's been outstanding since being traded to the Orioles. In five starts with his new team, he's gone 5-0 with a 1.95 ERA and a 34:3 K:BB.
