Eflin (1-4) was tagged with the loss after he allowed four runs on seven hits while striking out five through 5.1 innings Sunday against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Eflin was hurt by the long ball Sunday, as all four earned runs came from a pair of two-run homers. The 23-year-old is now 1-1 with a 4.38 ERA and 8:1 K:BB in two starts (12.1 innings) since being recalled from Triple-A. His performance should once again earn him another turn in the Phillies' rotation, lining him up to pitch Friday against the Giants.

Eflin picked up his first win of the season Wednesday after allowing two runs on seven hits over seven innings in a 5-2 win over the Braves. He struck out three and walked one.
EDGE Analysis
Eflin was making his first start since being recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He relied on his sinker to generate weak contact and recorded nine groundouts in the game. He has likely earned himself another start with this performance, which puts him in line to face the Mets on Sunday.

Eflin was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley and will start Tuesday's game against the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
Eflin will pitch in the big leagues for the first time since late May after he was ousted from the rotation following three consecutive starts in which he allowed at least seven runs. The right-hander has been better since heading back to Lehigh Valley, but his 4.60 ERA and 1.33 WHIP over nine starts in the International League during that time still isn't anything to write home about. Though he'll enter the rotation in place of Jake Thompson on Tuesday, Eflin will likely need to turn in a solid performance in order to guarantee himself future starts with the Phillies.

Eflin could be the choice to fill the opening in the Phillies' rotation vacated by Jake Thompson, Matt Gelb of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Thompson was sent to the minors last week. His turn comes up next on Tuesday, which happens to be the day Eflin is scheduled to make his next start for Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Eflin missed some time with an elbow injury earlier this season and has gone 0-4 with a 4.60 ERA and a 40:12 K:BB in 45 innings for Lehigh Valley since returning to action. He would face the Braves on Tuesday if he is recalled from the minors to make a start.

Eflin allowed one run on four hits over six innings Saturday for Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He struck out seven and walked two.
EDGE Analysis
Eflin is 0-2 with a 4.18 ERA and a 30:9 K:BB in 28 innings since coming back from elbow inflammation that cost him about a month of playing time. Jake Thompson is currently getting a look in the Phillies' rotation, but if he fails to capitalize on his opportunity the Phils could turn to Eflin or Ben Lively to take Thompson's spot.

Eflin (elbow) could rejoin the rotation at Triple-A Lehigh Valley early next week, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eflin has been sidelined since early June with inflammation in his right elbow. He has made two rehab appearances with the Gulf Coast League Phillies in the past week, throwing a total of seven innings.

An MRI on Eflin's elbow revealed no ligament damage, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is a breath of relief for the Phillies organization, as now they'll simply be able to wait out the injury without any surgery or extensive rehab. The plan as of now is to shut Eflin down for five days and have him resume throwing next week, after which a firmer timetable for his return should come forth.

Eflin (elbow) will be shut down from throwing for five days, Tom Housenick of The Morning Call reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eflin was diagnosed with an elbow strain Wednesday, and it seems like his plan as of now is to simply wait things out to see if the issue alleviates itself. An update on the right-hander's health should come forth once the resting period is up, but it seems unlikely that he'll be able to return to full action until the end of the month unless things shore up quickly.

Eflin, who is sidelined at Triple-A Lehigh Valley with an elbow injury, will see a specialist Tuesday in Philadelphia, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
He was placed on the minor-league DL on Sunday because of the injury. Eflin has a 6.13 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 25 strikeouts in 47 innings for the Phillies this season, and was recently optioned back to Triple-A.
