Davies (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Wednesday without issue, but is several weeks away from returning to the Brewers' rotation, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com.
EDGE Analysis
Details regarding Davies' recovery from his latest setback have been minimal up to this point, but on the heels of a successful throwing session Wednesday, manager Craig Counsell indicated that Davies would throw "several mound sessions" then make "2-3 rehab starts" before coming off the disabled list. That likely pushes Davies' return date to sometime in July, but a better estimate will be able to be made once he is sent out on an official rehab assignment.

Davies (shoulder) will not return from the 10-day disabled list during this weekend's series in Philadelphia, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
There was a possibility that Davies would be back in action for Sunday's series finale but the club announced that he won't be an option to rejoin the rotation just yet. The right-hander went down with right rotator cuff inflammation following his start against the Cardinals on May 29. Outside of this update, the Brewers have remained relatively quiet regarding his status, but a plan for his return should come into focus in the near future. In his place, Freddy Peralta could make another spot start after tossing 6.1 scoreless innings for Triple-A Colorado Springs on Tuesday.

The Brewers placed Davies on the 10-day disabled list Friday with right rotator cuff inflammation.
EDGE Analysis
Davies mentioned he was dealing with some shoulder soreness after his last start, and the Brewers are in the midst of an eight-day stretch in which they play just five games, so the club decided to place him on the disabled list to give him ample recovery time without taking up a roster spot. Neither Davies nor the Brewers have expressed much concern about Davies' setback, so as long as he is just dealing with only soreness and nothing worse, he figures to rejoin Milwaukee's rotation on or around June 9, the first day he is eligible to be activated from the DL.

Davies mentioned after his start Tuesday that he felt some lingering soreness in his shoulder thanks to a comebacker that struck him in his previous start, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davies did not blame his struggles in two starts since returning from the disabled list on the injury, but he did say "everything hasn't felt great" his last two times out. Given that he took the ball Tuesday it would seem he will be good to go for his next scheduled start, but the shoulder soreness leaves him day-to-day for now. While Davies isn't leaning on the injury, he would certainly stand to benefit to some degree from getting back to 100 percent.

Davies (shoulder) was activated ahead of Thursday's start against the Mets, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davies had already been confirmed for this start, so the activation was simply a procedural move. He logged a 4.24 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 25:12 K:BB in 34 innings (six starts) prior to landing on the DL. Brandon Woodruff was optioned to Triple-A as a corresponding move.

Davies (shoulder) is expected to start Thursday against the Mets, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davies has been on the 10-day disabled list for most of May, but it sounds like he'll be activated ahead of Thursday's series opener against the Mets after getting through a minor-league rehab start with no issues over the weekend. The Brewers will likely wait and see how he feels after a between-starts bullpen session Tuesday, but the 25-year-old is trending towards rejoining Milwaukee's rotation later this week. Prior to landing on the shelf, Davies compiled a 4.24 ERA across six starts. His return to the rotation likely means that either Brent Suter or Brandon Woodruff will be sent to the bullpen.

Brewers manager Craig Counsell said that Davies (shoulder) would be evaluated during a between-starts bullpen session Tuesday before it's determined whether he'll be activated from the 10-day disabled list this week or require another minor-league rehab start, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davies was flawless in his first rehab outing Saturday for Low-A Wisconsin, covering 4.2 scoreless innings and whiffing nine in the outing while throwing 44 of his 56 pitches for strikes. The exceptional control Davies displayed is an indication that the rotator cuff irritation in his throwing shoulder isn't much of an issue, but the Brewers may want to see him build up his pitch count a little more before slotting him back into the rotation. If the Brewers are satisfied enough with Davies' bullpen session to activate him this week, the earliest he could take the hill would be Thursday's series opener against the Mets. With Chase Anderson (illness) returning from the DL on Monday and Davies seemingly in line for an activation soon after, two of Brent Suter, Freddy Peralta and Brandon Woodruff figure to lose out on spots in the Milwaukee rotation.

Davies (shoulder) allowed two runs while striking out nine over 4.2 scoreless innings in a rehab start for Low-A Wisconsin on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The results were pristine, and most importantly, there were no reported issues with the shoulder. That said, Davies only built up to 56 pitches in the outing and it seems likely that he will require at least one more rehab start to prepare for a return to Brewers' rotation.

Davies (shoulder) will make a rehab start with Low-A Wisconsin on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Davies threw a bullpen session Wednesday, and the results must have been encouraging, as he is set to resume pitching in games this weekend. It's not clear how many rehab starts Davies will need before being activated from the disabled list, but if he is deemed ready after just the lone minor-league outing, he would rejoin the Brewers' rotation later next week.

Davies (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davies has been out for over two weeks with a nagging shoulder injury. If his bullpen session goes off without a hitch, he'll advance to throwing in a simulated game or partake in a minor-league rehab start. An update on his condition should be provided following his Wednesday workout.
