Brzykcy might be part of the ninth-inning mix for the Nationals with Kyle Finnegan having been traded to the Tigers, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old right-hander's numbers in 2025 jump off the page in a bad way, as he carries a 7.06 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 23:10 K:BB over 21.2 innings. Brzykcy does have a 46.3 percent whiff rate on his changeup to go along with a mid-90s fastball and effective curve, and that might be the closest thing to a true out pitch in the Washington bullpen at the moment. He's a long shot to claim the closer role outright, but Brzykcy could be part of a ninth-inning committee with lefty Jose Ferrer and righty Cole Henry.

The Nationals recalled Brzykcy from Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
He'll fill one of openings in the bullpen that was created by the Nationals trading righty Luis Garcia and lefty Andrew Chafin to the Angels earlier Wednesday. Brzykcy has surrendered 17 earned runs over 20.2 frames during his time with the big club this season.

The Nationals optioned Brzykcy to Triple-A Rochester on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Brzykcy has been getting hit around quite a bit as of late, surrendering nine earned runs in just 3.2 innings across his last five outings. He'll head back to Triple-A in an effort to right the ship, clearing a spot in the Nationals' bullpen for Mason Thompson (elbow) to return from the IL.

The Nationals recalled Brzykcy from Triple-A Rochester on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Brzykcy will join the Nationals' bullpen as a replacement for Lucas Sims, who was released by the team Friday. Brzykcy has given up two earned runs while striking out nine batters in 4.2 innings at Triple-A, and he gave up one run in one inning during his season debut for Washington on Tuesday. He'll likely fill in as a low-leverage arm for now.

EDGE Analysis
Brzykcy will return to the minors after he was summoned from Rochester to serve as the Nationals' 27th man for Tuesday's doubleheader with the Guardians. The righty reliever pitched the final inning of the Nationals' 9-1 loss in Game 2, giving up one earned run on two hits and one walk while striking out a batter.

The Nationals recalled Brzykcy from Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brzykcy will serve as the 27th man for Tuesday's doubleheader against the Guardians. The 25-year-old began the season on the 15-day injured list with a quad strain, but he's healthy now and has yielded just two runs with a 14:3 K:BB over 7.2 innings in the minors in 2025.

The Nationals reinstated Brzykcy (quadriceps) from the 15-day injured list Friday and optioned him to Triple-A Rochester.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was sidelined for the first month of the campaign due to a quadriceps strain, but he won't join the big club upon the completion of his four-game rehab assignment. Brzykcy received his first taste of the majors last season with six relief appearances and gave up nine earned runs over 5.2 innings.

Brzykcy (quadricep) will shift his rehab assignment Thursday from High-A Wilmington to Triple-A Rochester, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brzykcy will move on to the third affiliate of his rehab assignment after striking out five batters across three scoreless innings in three appearances between stints with Single-A Fredericksburg and Wilmington. The righty reliever has been on the shelf all season while recovering from a right quad strain, but he could be ready to make his 2025 debut with the Nationals at some point next week.

Brzykcy (quad) will begin a rehab assignment at Single-A Fredericksburg on Tuesday, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brzykcy strained his quad early on in spring training and was limited to just one appearance on the mound. Now healthy, Brzykcy will get his arm conditioned in the minors before a potential return to the big leagues. Brzykcy pitched at High-A, Double-A, Triple-A and in the majors during the 2024 campaign. In 5.2 innings with the Nationals last season, Brzykcy registered a 14.29 ERA and 4:3 K:BB.

The Nationals placed Brzykcy (quadriceps) on the 15-day injured list Wednesday, retroactive to March 24.
EDGE Analysis
Brzykcy was limited to just one spring game due to a lingering quadriceps injury. He's eligible to return from the IL on April 7, but he'll need to ramp up his activity via extended spring training or a rehab assignment before being ready for major-league action. Brzykcy saw his first major-league action in 2024 with the Nationals, and across six regular-season games he allowed nine earned runs on nine hits and three walks while striking out four across 5.2 innings.
