Pino agreed to a minor league contract with the Twins on Tuesday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander most recently pitched in Korea, struggling to the tune of a 7.15 ERA over 39.0 innings, while posting a 23/15 K/BB ratio to go with it. He pitched with the Twins back in 2014, but posted a 5.07 ERA across 60.1 innings. The 33-year-old will likely provide organization depth at reliever for the Twins.

Pino was lit up for six runs on 11 hits and a walk in 5.1 innings Friday against the Red Sox.
The 31-year-old was called up from Triple-A Omaha earlier in the day to make his first major league start in over a month and was tagged for five runs in the second inning, although he managed to settle down afterward. Pino could remain in the rotation for as long as Yordano Ventura is sidelined, but Friday's performance could have the team looking at other options.

Pino will replace Jason Vargas (flexor strain) on the active roster, though it seems Chris Young is the favorite to start in place of Vargas on Sunday. The right-handed Pino was highly successful in a long-relief role during his first stint with the big club this season, tossing 10.2 scoreless frames with just seven hits allowed and a 8:0 K:BB.

Greg Holland is getting activated from the disabled list so the Royals needed to send down a reliever. Pino did a fine job during his brief stay with Kansas City and he will continue to offer organizational bullpen depth.

Pino was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Saturday.
The move corresponds with closer Greg Holland getting placed on the 15-day DL, so Pino could have an extended stay with the big league club. The 31-year-old righty had been a career minor leaguer until making 11 starts with the Twins last season. His first appearance at Omaha was out of the bullpen, so the Royals clearly think he profiles better as a reliever. Even without Holland, the Royals have plenty of high-leverage caliber arms, so Pino will likely be used in the middle innings.
