Minnesota is interested in signing Pena to a contract for 2014, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Pena revitalized his career in Japan and hit .255/.344/.486 with 32 home runs for the Orix Buffalos last season. Pena is seeking to return to MLB and reportedly has interest from other teams as well. It's not clear where he'd fit with the Twins as the team is flush with DH and 1B types.

Pena had his best season in Japan in 2014, hitting .255/.344/.486 while cracking 32 home runs. Pena is rumored to be interested in an MLB return for 2015, but it's likely that his best financial offers will come from Japan.

Wily Mo Pena is expected to remain in Japan next season. Pena has drawn interest stateside, but there appear to be better offers in Japan. The 31-year-old hit 21 homers for the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks in 2012, but appeared in just 55 games this past season.

Wily Mo Pe¤a has signed a two-year contract with the Softbank Hawks of Nippon Professional Baseball. Pena is expected to earn around $5 million, so he'll get a big raise from his salary in the states and will probably fare well as a slugger for the Hawks. The 29-year-old will likely try to come back to MLB after a couple years overseas. He batted .204/.250/.416 with seven homers over 120 plate appearances with the Diamondbacks and Mariners this season.

According to the Japanese website Sponichi, Wily Mo Pe¤a is expected to sign a two-year contract with the Softbank Hawks of Nippon Professional Baseball. Pena will reportedly receive around $5 million, so it's no surprise that he decided to take the deal rather than catch on with someone in the states on a minor league contract. The 29-year-old batted .204/.250/.416 with seven homers over 120 plate appearances with the Diamondbacks and Mariners this season.

According to Dionisio Soldevila of ESPN Radio, Wily Mo Pena is considering playing in Japan next year. With his raw power, Pena could carry star-power potential overseas. In Major League Baseball, he's a guy without a position and an all-or-nothing approach. Pena slugged seven homers and struck out 39 times in 120 plate appearances between Seattle and Arizona this past season.

Wily Mo Pena went 3-for-3 with a homer, a double and four RBI against the Indians on Wednesday. He also walked, believe it or not. It's his only walk in 70 plate appearances for the Diamondbacks and Mariners this season. Pena is now 7-for-24 with two homers and six RBI for Seattle. He should be in line for additional at-bats.

Mariners purchased the contract of OF-DH Wily Mo Pena from Triple-A Tacoma. He's back. Pena slugged five home runs in 46 at-bats for the Diamondbacks earlier this season and should post quality power numbers with Seattle. But major league teams tend to grow tired of his lack of versatility. He simply can't play the field.
