Willie Bloomquist's new two-year deal with the Mariners carries a total value of $5.8 million.
That's the word from Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. Bloomquist appeared in only 48 games in 2013 due to a lingering left hand injury, but he should have a clean bill of health heading into the 2014 season and will serve as an active utilityman for Seattle. The 36-year-old is a .271/.320/.346 career hitter in the major leagues.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Mariners are close to a deal with free agent Willie Bloomquist.
Bloomquist missed a large chunk of the 2013 season with a left hand injury and posted a pedestrian .727 OPS in 48 games when he wasn't on the disabled list. He'll function as a utilityman next summer for Seattle.

Willie Bloomquist went 3-for-5 and plated the winning run in the bottom of the 10th as the Diamondbacks edged the Blue Jays 4-3 on Wednesday.
Bloomquist has been hurt for most of the season, but he's hit an exceptional .355 in 93 at-bats while healthy. He'll continue to get starts over Didi Gregorius while he's hot.

Willie Bloomquist (hand) is nearing a rehab assignment.
Bloomquist has been taking grounders for a week and was recently cleared to begin hitting again. He should be back before the end of the month. "He's champing at the bit," Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said. "He wants to get going. He wants to start playing somewhere."

Willie Bloomquist (hand) was cleared to take ground balls and play catch on Tuesday.
He could be cleared to begin hitting next week after seeing hand specialist Dr. Don Sheridan on Sunday. Bloomquist isn't expected back until next month.

Willie Bloomquist is expected to be sidelined six to eight weeks with two broken bones in his left hand.
Bloomquist was hit by a pitch last week and placed on the disabled list Wednesday. It's the same injury that sidelined teammate Aaron Hill for much of this season. Bloomquist will be shut down for an extended absence and likely won't be available to return until September.

Willie Bloomquist will have a CT scan taken of his injured left wrist on Thursday evening.
Bloomquist got plunked on the left wrist by a pitch last Wednesday and is still in pain. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list July 3, retroactive to June 28, and probably won't be back before the All-Star break.

Bloomquist was hit on the hand by a pitch last Wednesday and hasn't made enough progress to return to action. Tony Campana has been called up from Triple-A Reno to take his spot on the active roster.

Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said Sunday that Willie Bloomquist's hand is "getting better every day."
Bloomquist was plunked on the left hand by a pitch on Wednesday and has not played since, but it sounds like he will avoid a disabled list stint. The veteran infielder is batting .292/.342/.347 in 22 games played this season.
