Willie Bloomquist's new two-year deal with the Mariners carries a total value of $5.8 million. That's the word from Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. Bloomquist appeared in only 48 games in 2013 due to a lingering left hand injury, but he should have a clean bill of health heading into the 2014 season and will serve as an active utilityman for Seattle. The 36-year-old is a .271/.320/.346 career hitter in the major leagues.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Mariners are close to a deal with free agent Willie Bloomquist.
