Suero has yet to give up a run over five Grapefruit League appearances (five innings) while posting a 9:1 K:BB.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old right-hander has been well ahead of the batters he's faced so far. Suero isn't expected to factor into the saves mix for the Nats this season, but after finishing second on the team in holds in 2020 while posting a strikeout rate north of 27 percent, he should be an important bridge to setup men Will Harris and Daniel Hudson.

Suero (2-0) picked up the win in the second game of Friday's doubleheader against Atlanta, striking out two in a perfect inning of relief.
EDGE Analysis
He was the fourth Nats pitcher to enter the game but the first to keep the opposition off the scoreboard, leading to the win in an eventual 10-9 victory. Suero remains in a fairly low-leverage role, and while his 17:4 K:BB through 15.2 innings is strong, he has a mediocre 4.60 ERA and 1.28 WHIP plus zero saves or holds in 13 appearances.

Suero (1-0) picked up the win in Tuesday's 8-5 victory over Atlanta, giving up one hit and striking out two in a scoreless fifth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Austin Voth didn't last long enough to qualify for the win even though the Nats took the lead for good in the top of the fifth, making Suero the pitcher of record after he and six other relievers combined to silence Atlanta's bats. The right-hander has been tagged for runs in half of his six appearances this season, leading to a 6.14 ERA and 1.77 WHIP, but his 7:1 K:BB and zero homers allowed through 7.1 innings suggests better days should be ahead.

Suero (undisclosed) was activated from the injured list Tuesday, Byron Kerr of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Suero missed much of camp for undisclosed reasons but has been able to throw for the past two weeks and is now ready for game action. With a fine but forgettable 4.16 ERA in 119 major-league innings so far in his career, the righty probably isn't ticketed for high-leverage innings any time soon.

Suero (undisclosed) completed a simulated game Wednesday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Even though Suero remains on the 10-day injured list, his presence at summer camp and ability to face hitters suggests he's reasonably healthy and won't miss much time beyond Opening Day. The right-hander reliever made 78 appearances for Washington in 2019, posting a 4.54 ERA, 81:26 K:BB and 19 holds over 71.1 innings.

Suero (undisclosed) reported to summer training Sunday and threw a light side session, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old is on the injured list and has been absent from camp for unspecified reasons, but he was able to join the team this weekend. Suero may not be available for Opening Day with only a few days to build up for Thursday's matchup with the Yankees.

Suero was placed on the injured list for undisclosed reasons Monday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
If Suero's absence is related to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Nationals wouldn't legally be able to confirm. The righty has yet to appear in camp, and it's not yet clear when he's expected to arrive.

Suero posted a 0.00 ERA but shaky 4:4 K:BB through six spring innings.
EDGE Analysis
On the bright side, the right-hander allowed only one hit in Grapefruit League action before MLB was put on pause. Suero was expected to fill a middle-relief role to begin the season following the acquisition of Will Harris, but his improving K-rate and 3.06 FIP in 2019 suggest he could handle high-leverage work if called upon.

Suero was added to the Nationals' World Series roster.
EDGE Analysis
Suero made the team's NLDS roster and was on the NLCS roster for a day before being dropped for Daniel Hudson's return from paternity leave. He's made just a single appearance this postseason, getting one out and allowing one run.

Suero was removed from the Nationals' NLCS roster Saturday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The move was expected, as Suero was designated to be removed from the roster once Daniel Hudson was reinstated from the paternity list, which occurred Saturday. The right-hander was not used during Game 1 of the NLCS after Anibal Sanchez pitched 7.2 innings in his start.
