Buehler could be moved to the bullpen prior to his next scheduled start, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Buehler has struggled with his command all season, but his performance has gone even further downhill of late. He has a 6.5 BB/9 and a 1.72 WHIP across his last five starts, and he's failed to complete at least five innings three times in that span. Richard Fitts would be a candidate to take Buehler's rotation spot, as would Kyle Harrison, Payton Tolle or Connelly Early.

Buehler didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Baltimore, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks across four innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Buehler has struggled to locate pitches this season, and those issues have been exaggerated recently. He has more walks than strikeouts across his last five starts, and he's posted a 4.32 ERA along with a 15:18 K:BB across 25 innings during that stretch. Buehler hasn't struck out more than four batters in 11 consecutive outings. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Orioles early next week.

Buehler (7-7) took the loss Wednesday against the Astros, allowing four runs on four hits and four walks in six innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
The four runs allowed were Buehler's most since his June 29 start versus the Blue Jays, although he did manage to toss at least six innings for the fourth time in his last six outings. The 31-year-old veteran right-hander hasn't fanned at least five since June 11 against the Rays, and he's walked multiple batters on eight occasions during this 10-start stretch. Buehler does have a palatable 3.67 ERA across 39 innings since the beginning of July, but his 1.49 WHIP and 19:18 K:BB during this period sets him up as a volatile fantasy option next week at home versus the Orioles.

Buehler (7-6) picked up the win Friday, allowing four hits and two walks over six scoreless innings in a 10-2 rout of the Padres. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
A four-run fourth inning by the Red Sox gave Buehler all the offensive support he would need, as the right-hander tossed 60 of 96 pitches for strikes en route to his first win since July 5 and his seventh quality start of the season. Buehler has been inconsistent all year, but he's been able to limit the damage of late. He hasn't given up more than three runs in an outing since the beginning of July, posting a 3.27 ERA over his last 33 innings despite an ugly 1.52 WHIP and 16:14 K:BB. His luck could run out in his next start, however, which lines up to come on the road next week in Houston.

Buehler allowed three runs on nine hits and three walks over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against Houston on Saturday. He didn't notch any strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Given the constant traffic allowed by Buehler, he fared relatively well in allowing just three runs. The right-hander didn't toss any clean innings and had multiple batters reach base against him in all but one of the frames in which he pitched, but only one of the Astros' nine knocks against him -- a first-inning, two-run homer by Christian Walker -- went for extra bases. Buehler was helped by two double plays, but he didn't strike out any batters and got just six whiffs among his 84 pitches (54 strikes). He showed a bit of promise in July when he posted a 3.57 ERA over four starts, but his 12:9 K:BB across 22.2 innings during that month was far from promising, and he still sits at an ugly 5.74 ERA on the season after Saturday's outing.

Buehler did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Dodgers, allowing three runs on four hits and five walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Buehler's final line certainly could have looked a lot worse, as the right-hander struggled again with his command -- Buehler's issued 23 walks over just 34 innings in his last seven starts. His ERA now sits at a subpar 5.72 on the year with a 1.54 WHIP and 71:41 K:BB across 18 starts (89.2 innings). Buehler is currently lined up to face the Astros at home in his next outing.

Buehler didn't factor into the decision Monday against the Phillies, giving up two runs (one earned) on six hits and one walk in seven innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Buehler tallied his second straight quality start and just his sixth of the season so far, and he pounded the zone for 61 strikes among his 89 pitches. Monday also marked the third time this year that the 30-year-old right-hander tossed at least six innings while allowing one run or fewer, but he's failed to post at least five punchouts in any of his last six outings. Buehler holds a 5.72 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 67:36 K:BB over 85 frames, and he remains a mostly hit-or-miss fantasy option ahead of a scary matchup versus the Dodgers slated for this weekend.

Buehler took a no-decision Thursday against the Rays, giving up three runs on five hits and three walks in six innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Thursday marked the first time that Buehler had thrown at least six innings since June 11, giving the right-hander his fifth quality start of 2025. He's punched out fewer than four batters in each of his last five appearances, and he's walked at least three in four of those five starts. Buehler has had a disappointing campaign so far, as his 6.12 ERA and 1.56 WHIP through 78 frames would be career worsts if they stand. He'll remain difficult to trust from a fantasy perspective coming out of the All-Star break.

Buehler (6-6) earned the win Saturday in Washington, giving up three runs (two earned) on eight hits and no walks over five innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Buehler certainly wasn't dominant as he induced just seven whiffs on 100 pitches (65 strikes) and tied a season low in strikeouts, but the two earned runs allowed are his best mark since May 25 versus Baltimore. The veteran right-hander entered Saturday's contest having walked 14 batters across his prior three outings, and it's just his second start of the season with no free passes. Despite the bounce-back performance, Buehler's 6.25 ERA and 1.58 WHIP through 15 starts this year doesn't inspire much confidence going forward.

Buehler is expected to make his next start scheduled for Saturday against the Nationals, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports. "He's scheduled to make his next one," Red Sox manager Alex Cora said. "He's healthy, eager to work and like I said yesterday, he feels like he's getting close to finding it."
EDGE Analysis
Buehler had another challenging outing Sunday, when he was unable to go longer than four innings for a third consecutive start. He now owns a 6.45 ERA through 14 starts and will remain in the rotation for at least one more turn. Injuries currently leave the team light on starting depth, but newcomer Kyle Harrison, Hunter Dobbins (elbow) and Tanner Houck (elbow) are potential replacements.
