Bellozo elected free agency Saturday, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bellozo will enter the free-agent market after being outrighted off the Marlins' 40-man roster Wednesday. The 25-year-old posted a 4.65 ERA and 1.33 WHIP across 81.1 innings in 2025 and has worked as both a starter and reliever during his time in the majors.

The Marlins outrighted Bellozo to Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
He's no longer on the 40-man roster, but Bellozo will remain in the organization. The 25-year-old has been used as a swingman in Miami, posting a 4.20 ERA and 98:44 K:BB across 150 innings since the start of the 2024 campaign.

Bellozo (triceps) retired two of the six batters he faced and was charged with four earned runs on four hits in a relief appearance in Thursday's 9-7 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Though Bellozo was knocked around for four extra-base hits (two home runs, two doubles) in the relief outing, he's at least seemingly healthy again after he had been forced out of his previous appearance Sept. 9 against the Nationals due to right triceps tightness. The right-hander is likely to continue serving in a low-leverage relief role for Miami during the final week of the season.

Bellozo was pulled from Tuesday's game against the Nationals with right triceps tightness, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bellozo gave up two hits and struck out a batter across two-plus innings out of the bullpen Tuesday before his triceps forced him out during the ninth. The severity of his injury remains unknown, though the Marlins will presumably stay away from using Bellozo in relief over the next couple of days.

Bellozo (1-4) took the loss against the Phillies on Friday, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out two over three innings.
EDGE Analysis
Making his first start since May 13 due to injuries in Miami's rotation, Bellozo ran into trouble immediately, surrendering a run from consecutive singles to the first three batters he faced before giving up a solo homer to Max Kepler in the second frame. The right-hander settled in with a 1-2-3 third inning, but his short outing wasn't enough to avoid the loss. Time will tell if the 25-year-old will be remaining in the rotation for another outing, but he could be lined up to return to his long relief role following Friday's start.

Bellozo is slated to start Friday's game against the Phillies, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bellozo opened the season as a starter for Miami, but despite turning in a 3.27 ERA in 22 innings over his first five outings, he was dispatched to the bullpen in mid-May. With injuries having piled up in the Miami rotation of late, Bellozo will now get the chance to pick up his sixth start of the season, but he could be headed back to a relief role after Friday's contest. In his most recent appearance this part Friday against the Mets, Bellozo tossed 4.1 innings and 65 pitches out of the bullpen, so he should be able to provide the Marlins with a decent amount of length in his first start since May 13.

Bellozo carries a 3.55 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 35:15 K:BB through 50.2 innings over 17 appearances (five starts) going into the All-Star break.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old righty doesn't offer much strikeout upside, limiting his fantasy appeal, but he's been a rock for the Marlins in long relief over the last month. Bellozo hasn't allowed more than one run in an outing since June 13, and over his last 15 innings and seven appearances he sports a 1.80 ERA and 1.13 WHIP. If Miami trades away starting pitching before the deadline, Bellozo could get another crack at holding down a rotation spot.

Bellozo (1-3) took the loss Sunday against the Rays, coughing up three runs on two hits and a walk over 3.1 innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
The Marlins went with a bullpen game Sunday, and Bellozo was the only Miami hurler to give up any runs in a 3-2 loss. Yandy Diaz was the right-hander's nemesis, clubbing a two-run homer off Bellozo in the fifth inning and adding a double to lead off the eighth. Bellozo has provided useful innings in a swingman role, pitching at least three frames in all nine of his appearances (five starts) and allowing more than one earned run only twice. On the season, he sports a 3.41 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 28:14 K:BB through 34.1 innings.

Bellozo (1-2) picked up the win Monday over the Cubs, allowing two hits and a walk over three scoreless innings of relief. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander made his first appearance of the season out of the bullpen count, taking the mound to begin the seventh inning with the Marlins down 7-6 and getting rewarded for his strong performance when Miami walked it off in the bottom of the ninth. Bellozo isn't expected to be needed in the rotation again barring another rash of injuries, putting an even lower ceiling on his already minimal fantasy value. Through 25 big-league innings this year, Bellozo has a 2.88 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 17:12 K:BB.

Bellozo will transition to the bullpen with the Marlins reinstating Ryan Weathers (forearm) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old Bellozo started in his first five MLB appearances of the season, and he pitched well with a 3.27 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 16:11 K:BB across 22 innings. The performance was enough to retain his spot on the major-league roster, and the right-hander will be a prime candidate to re-enter the rotation should Miami suffer an injury to another starting pitcher.
