Taylor, as just one of just six outfielders on the Brewers' 40-man roster and with more Triple-A experience than fellow 40-manner and San Antonio teammate Troy Stokes, is likely the top option should the Brewers need to add an outfielder from the minor-league ranks for any reason.

However, he will be eligible for the Rule 5 draft for the first time, and there's a chance he could get a look from another squad if left unprotected by the Brewers.

Taylor had a few rough years after jumping onto the prospect scene after a fine 2014 season, culminating in an injury-riddled 2017 that saw him play just 32 minor-league games. The Brewers still decided to advance him to the Triple-A level for the first time, though, and he has taken full advantage of the hitter-friendly conditions in the PCL. At 24 years old Taylor is unlikely to find himself back on prospect lists anytime soon, but he is doing his best to show he is still worthy of consideration for a spot on a major-league roster.

Taylor missed the early part of this season while recovering from a hamstring strain, but he returned to game action with the Brewers' Arizona League squad in late June and has not experienced any setbacks since. Taylor was once one of the Brewers' top prospects, but he struggled with the bat the last couple years, and will look to get back on track over the rest of the current campaign.

The outfield prospect has already missed a good portion of spring training with an oblique issue and it appears he'll be missing a bit more time with the latest ailment. Taylor has played at least 128 games with Double-A Biloxi over the past two seasons, but struggled to a .232 average last year.
