Oakland selected Wade's contract Friday from Triple-A Las Vegas.
EDGE Analysis
Wade has slashed .286/.405/.286 across 43 plate appearances in Triple-A Las Vegas this season. The 28-year-old utility man has never been much of an offensive threat in the majors, but his defensive versatility makes him a valuable bench piece for the A's. In order to make room for Wade on the roster, Nick Allen was optioned to Las Vegas, and Cal Stevenson was designated for assignment Friday.

Manager Mark Kotsay announced Monday that Wade didn't make the Athletics' Opening Day roster, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wade had a .275/.383/.375 slash line across 25 spring training games but didn't do enough to crack Oakland's Opening Day roster. The veteran infielder played in 67 games for the Angels last season and had a .544 OPS, so he's hardly guaranteed to see time in the majors in 2023.

Wade, who went 2-for-2 with an RBI double in Tuesday's Cactus League win over the Angels, is now hitting .300 across 36 spring training plate appearances.
EDGE Analysis
Wade also has a triple, a pair of RBI and five runs on his Cactus League resume and has struck out an acceptable six times overall. In camp as a non-roster invitee, the 28-year-old is making a solid case for an Opening Day spot, and his prior experience playing every position besides catcher and first base does give his candidacy added appeal.

Wade elected free agency Wednesday per Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's official site.
EDGE Analysis
Wade was traded from the Angels to the Yankees in mid-July, but he never got the chance to play in the majors for New York. He posted a .218/.272/.272 line with the Angles, though he did manage 22 runs scored and eight stolen bases across 163 plate appearances.

Wade was traded from the Angels to the Yankees on Thursday in exchange for a player to be named later, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wade was outrighted to Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday after he was designated for assignment and cleared waivers, but he will now return to the Yankees, the team he spent the first five years of his career with. The 27-year-old will report to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and will be a likely candidate for a call-up at some point this summer. Wade posted a .218 average with one homer, eight RBI, 22 runs and eight stolen bases over 147 at-bats in 67 games with the Angels this season.

Wade cleared waivers Friday and was outrighted to Triple-A Salt Lake.
EDGE Analysis
Wade was designated for assignment by the Halos last weekend, but he'll stick in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. He posted a .218/.272/.272 slash line with one home run, eight RBI and eight stolen bases in 67 games before losing his spot on the 40-man roster.

Wade was designated for assignment by the Angels on Sunday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Angels turned Wade's roster spot over to Michael Stefanic, who is reportedly starting at second base Sunday. Wade has struggled to a .218/.272/.272 line in the big leagues this season, and his efficiency on the basepaths (8-for-13) has taken a hit. The 27-year-old will now be subjected to waivers.

Wade is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wade reached base in all three of his plate appearances and scored a run in Saturday's 5-3 loss, but he appears to be limited to a part-time role even with Anthony Rendon (wrist) having undergone season-ending surgery. With Matt Duffy serving as Rendon's primary replacement at third base, Andrew Velazquez and Luis Rengifo appear to have settled in as the Angels' primary options in the middle infield, leaving Wade without a path to steady playing time. Wade will be on the bench Sunday for the fourth time in six contests.

Wade will start at third base and bat ninth in Sunday's series finale with the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Wade will fill in at the hot corner for Matt Duffy in Sunday's series finale, but the former looks like he may pose the biggest threat to shortstop Andrew Velazquez's playing time in the wake of Anthony Rendon's season-ending wrist injury. Velazquez had been on the bench for two of the Angels' last four games, with Wade drawing the start at shortstop in those other two contests.

Wade is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Saturday's nightcap against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Wade goes to the bench after going 0-for-4 with a run and a strikeout in the day game. Luis Rengifo will start at second base and bat fifth.
