Soderstrom went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs scored in Friday's 5-1 win over the Guardians.
EDGE Analysis
Prior to Friday, Soderstrom had gone just 4-for-31 (.129) with five walks and six strikeouts over a nine-game span since his previous multi-hit effort. He's up to five steals this season, three of which have come in June, but he's not expected to be a big source of speed. The 23-year-old is batting .249 with a .776 OPS, 14 home runs, 45 RBI, 41 runs scored, 11 doubles and a triple over 77 contests this season. With Nick Kurtz having retaken a starting role at first base after a stint on the injured list due to a hip issue, Soderstrom has settled in as the Athletics' starting left fielder once again.

Soderstrom is not in the Athletics' starting lineup against the Astros on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Soderstrom will sit for the second time in four days while Max Schuemann, Denzel Clarke and Brent Rooker man the outfield for the Athletics. Soderstrom has gone 10-for-52 (.192) with two steals, one triple, two home runs and 10 RBI since the beginning of June.

Soderstrom is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
The 23-year-old will take a seat for the first time since May 4 while the Athletics hand JJ Bleday a start in left field. Though he's been limited to two home runs through his first 13 games in June, Soderstrom has demonstrated a patient approach at the plate, drawing 10 walks while striking out just nine times.

Soderstrom went 1-for-1 with four walks, a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Soderstrom showed off a couple of things he's not particularly known for -- speed and patience at the plate. He's now at a 10.0 percent walk rate on the year, though he still strikes out a fair amount (25.4 percent) as well. Soderstrom also swiped his third bag of the year. The 23-year-old has maintained a .256/.341/.480 slash line with 14 home runs, 43 RBI, 35 runs scored, 11 doubles and a triple over 66 contests. He should continue to play at first base until Nick Kurtz (hip) is healthy, at which point Soderstrom will likely rejoin the mix in left field.

Soderstrom went 2-for-5 with a grand slam and a two-run homer in Thursday's 14-3 win over the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
It's already the fourth multi-homer game of the season for Soderstrom, though his last came on April 15. The 23-year-old Soderstrom had cooled off at the plate after a blistering start to the year -- he'd gone just 5-for-40 (.125) in 12 games coming into Thursday. Soderstrom is now slashing .257/.333/.485 through 270 plate appearances this year with 14 homers, 42 RBI and 34 runs scored.

Soderstrom was ejected during third inning of Sunday's game against the Blue Jays for arguing balls and strikes, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Soderstrom drove in a run with a groundout during the opening frame but was tossed in the third inning after getting rung up on a called strike three. Despite the early departure, the 23-year-old still had a productive four-game set in Toronto, going 3-for-10 with two walks, a double, two homers and five RBI.

Soderstrom went 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run home run in Wednesday's 9-3 loss to the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
The 23-year-old put the A's on the board and tied the game with a two-run homer during the third inning, with the long ball ending a 23-game homerless stretch. Soderstrom has cooled off from his hot start to the campaign but still has a .285/.343/.515 slash line with 10 home runs, two steals, 29 RBI and 27 runs through 43 contests in 2025.

Soderstrom went 3-for-5 with a double in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Soderstrom has opened May going 8-for-25 (.320) over six games. It's been mostly an empty average so far this month -- he's added one RBI, one stolen base and three runs scored, and his double Tuesday was his first extra-base hit of the month. Overall, Soderstrom is at a .291/.353/.525 slash line with nine home runs, 25 RBI, 23 runs scored, two stolen bases and six doubles over 37 contests. He's already matched or surpassed many of his totals from 61 games in 2024, so this could end up being a breakout year for the 23-year-old.

Soderstrom is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Soderstrom will get his first day off of the season, in the midst of a rough patch at the dish. After slugging nine home runs in the Athletics' first 19 games, Soderstrom has gone without a long ball over the ensuing 15 contests and is slashing .228/.286/.281 with three doubles, one stolen base, six RBI and five runs during that stretch, a downturn that has coincided with a shift to the outfield to accommodate rookie Nick Kurtz. Soderstrom will give up his spot in the lineup Sunday to Miguel Andujar, who will start in left field and bat cleanup.

Athletics general manager David Forst said Tuesday that, upon the promotion of Nick Kurtz from Triple-A Las Vegas, Soderstrom will see some playing time in left field and at designated hitter, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Soderstrom has never played a position other than first base and catcher during his time in pro ball, so he will be learning left field on the fly. Brent Rooker will also see increased reps in left field in addition to DH. Kurtz is likely to see some action at DH, as well, but it sounds like most of his playing time will come at first base, where he is regarded as a superior defender to Soderstrom.
