Lyons signed a minor-league deal with the Yankees on Thursday, Conor Foley of The Scranton Times-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lyons was recently released from his minor-league deal with the Pirates, but it didn't take long for him to find a new team. The 31-year-old had a 3.31 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 55:16 K:BB over 45.2 innings at Triple-A, and he'll remain at that level with his new organization.

Lyons cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lyons was designated for assignment by Pittsburgh on Thursday, and after failing to draw interest while on the waiver wire, he's accepted an assignment at Triple-A, where he's posted a 3.18 ERA with 12 punchouts over 11.1 innings this season.

The Pirates designated Lyons for assignment Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The 31-year-old lost his roster spot after he was blown up for five runs on six hits and three walks over four innings in his three relief appearances since joining the Pirates on May 4. He'll be cycled out for another reliever in right-hander Montana DuRapau.

Lyons' contract was purchased by the Pirates on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Lyons spent parts of six season in the major leagues with the Cardinals, recording a respectable 4.09 ERA. He struggled significantly last season, posting an 8.64 ERA in 16.2 innings. He'll take the roster spot which had belong to Jameson Taillon, who hit the injured list with a flexor strain in a corresponding move. A move to open up a 40-man roster spot has not yet been announced.

Lyons allowed five runs on three hits and one walk while recording only one out during Tuesday's spring game against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Lyons entered for the top of the ninth inning during a one-run game and managed one out, which was a sac fly by the final batter he faced. The 31-year-old has given up nine runs on nine hits over five innings this spring after signing a minor league-deal with the Pirates in January.

Lyons signed a minor-league contract with the Pirates on Monday, Brandon Warne of ZoneCoverage.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lyons had an abysmal 2018 season with the Cardinals, posting a 8.64 ERA, 1.91 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB over 16.2 innings. The 30-year-old was actually a solid bullpen piece the previous two seasons with a 3.09 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 10.1 K/9, as the Pirates will undoubtedly hope he can regain that form in 2019.

Lyons cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Memphis on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Lyons missed six weeks with an elbow strain but otherwise struggled for the Cardinals with a 8.64 ERA, 1.92 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB over 16 innings. The 30-year-old will head to the Redbirds with the hope of rejoining the big-league club later this season if he can make significant improvements while in the minors.

Lyons was designated for assignment by St. Louis on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Lyons was cast off the 40-man roster as the Cardinals made a slew of moves to reshape their bullpen. Through 27 appearances this year, Lyons has posted an unsightly 8.64 ERA and 1.92 WHIP. After coming back a couple weeks ago from an elbow injury, he still wasn't able to find a rhythm, allowing seven earned runs across three innings of work.

Lyons (elbow) was activated from the 10-day DL on Friday, Rob Rains of Stlsportspage.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lyons will be available out of the bullpen for Friday's series opener in Cincinnati after missing the past six weeks with an elbow strain. That injury came on the heels of a back issue that forced him to miss a couple weeks in May, so Lyons has only appeared in 22 games with the Cardinals this year. Over 13.2 innings of relief, he's logged a 5.93 ERA and 1.61 WHIP.

Manager Mike Matheny is pleased with the progress Lyons (elbow) is making in his rehab assignment, Max Gelman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Matheny described Lyons' progress as just a bit behind that of fellow reliever Luke Gregerson's, who's logged more innings overall at the minor-league level. Lyons has made two appearances with the Redbirds during his current stint, firing a pair of perfect frames in the process. Judging from Matheny's comments, it appears the team envisions the southpaw putting in at least one more outing before being deemed ready for activation.
