Goeddel went 2-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's win over the Reds.

The stolen base was Goeddel's first of the season. He has been seeing fairly regular playing time of late and has hit .313/.353/.500 over his last seven games. His production is timely, as Cody Asche is due back in a week or two and will enter the mix for playing time in left field.

Goeddel was 1-for-3 with a two-run triple in the Phillies' win over Cincinnati on Friday night.

EDGE Analysis

A Rule-5 pick who hadn't played above Double-A until this season, Goeddel has struggled at times as he attempts to adjust to major league pitching. He's hitting just .170 on the year, but Manager Pete Mackanin has indicated he would like to continue getting him regular at bats in order to see just what they have. If he can find ways to get on base, he did steal 108 bases over three minor league seasons, and that would provide some fantasy value.

Goeddel is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Braves, according to CSN's Jim Salisbury.

EDGE Analysis

Goeddel started six of the Phillies' last seven games in left field, but he will get a day off in favor of David Lough after recording just three hits over that span.

Manager Pete Mackanin said he intends to give Goeddel increased playing time, Matt Gelb of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. "I've made a choice to play him," Mackanin said. "I'm going to give him a chance to at least get something going."

EDGE Analysis

Goeddel started in left field Friday for the third straight game, his longest streak of playing time this season. He went 0-for-3 and is hitting just .147 with 11 strikeouts and no walks in 34 at-bats this season. If he could start making some contact or drawing a few walks there might be a little value here. Goeddel stole 28 bases last season in the minors.

Goeddel went 0-for-3 Wednesday, dropping his batting average to .143 this season.

EDGE Analysis

Goeddel was making his first start since April 27. He has struck out 37.9 percent of the time this season which is a dramatic jump from his 18.4 percent rate at Double-A last season. He may have a solid future, but he is over-matched right now.

Goeddel went 2-for-4 with a RBI and two strikeouts in Saturday's win over the Brewers.

Goeddel was making just his sixth start Saturday. He has looked over-matched at the plate at times, making manager Pete Mackanin reluctant to play him too much. There is an opportunity to earn more playing time, but Goeddel will have to capitalize on his opportunities to make that happen.

Goeddel is making his first start against a right handed pitcher Tuesday, Corey Seidman of CSN Philadelphia reports.

EDGE Analysis

Goeddel is hitting eighth and playing left field against Logan Verrett and the Mets. He has a chance to earn additional playing time if he can string together some good at-bats against. The Phillies have received very little offense from their other corner outfielders this season. Goeddel has also struggled, going 1-for-13 with seven strikeouts thus far.

EDGE Analysis

Cedric Hunter started in left field on Opening Day with righty Raisel Iglesias on the bump, but Goeddel will make his major league debut Wednesday now that left-hander Brandon Finnegan is pitching for the Reds. Unfrotunately for the Rule 5 pick, Goeddel will have to play especially well to garner more playing time, as he is currently slated to be on the short side of a platoon with Cedric Hunter in left field.

While Goeddel will not play every day like manager Pete Mackanin alluded to last week, he will at least have a defined role as the starting left fielder against left-handed pitchers.
