While Goeddel will not play every day like manager Pete Mackanin alluded to last week, he will at least have a defined role as the starting left fielder against left-handed pitchers. With the Phillies taking on right-hander Raisel Iglesias on Monday, Hunter will start in left field and Goeddel will open the regular season on the bench.
