Baltimore Orioles shortstop Richie Martin (wrist surgery) and starting pitcher Ty Blach (Tommy John surgery) are scheduled to have their respective surgeries this Wednesday, per MASN Sports' Roch Kubatko. Martin broke his wrist during an intrasquad game over the weekend and Blach had recently felt soreness in his pitching elbow. Given the length of recovery time for these surgeries, both Martin and Blach are now out of fantasy consideration for the shortened 2020 season.

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Ty Blach will start against the Pirates on Saturday. The left-hander's most recent start in the big leagues came way back on May 27 against the Cubs when he allowed seven hits and five earned runs in three innings. In his 12 starts to open the year, Blach went 6-6 with a 4.90 ERA while striking out 30 hitters in 60 2/3 innings. He's been slightly better in a relief role, but Blach shouldn't be trusted as a streamer Saturday against a hot club.
