Ty Blach Has Thrown A Bullpen rotoballer.com Fri 6/17/22 2:36 PM

Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Ty Blach (wrist) has thrown a bullpen session and his wrist has responded well. Blach will throw a simulated game on Friday after originally sustaining the injury in a collision with the Padres' Jurickson Profar on June 10. The hope is that his next appearances will be at Triple-A Albuquerque on a minor league rehab assignment. The 31-year-old left-hander is eligible to return from the injured list on June 26, but it remains to be seen if he'll return by that ...

Ty Blach To Make Rockies Opening Day Roster rotoballer.com Mon 4/4/22 9:33 PM

Colorado Rockies left-hander Ty Blach will be on the Opening Day roster, according to Nick Groke of The Athletic. The news comes after the announcement that Ryan Rolison (shoulder) will start the season on the 60-day injured list. Blach will be used as a long man out of the bullpen but could see some spot starts if an injury pops up. The 31-year-old has had a decent spring, posting a 4.00 ERA and 1.11 WHIP with six strikeouts in nine innings. He hasn't appeared in a big-league game since 2019 ...

Richie Martin, Ty Blach To Have Surgery Wednesday rotoballer.com Mon 7/13/20 4:34 PM

Baltimore Orioles shortstop Richie Martin (wrist surgery) and starting pitcher Ty Blach (Tommy John surgery) are scheduled to have their respective surgeries this Wednesday, per MASN Sports' Roch Kubatko. Martin broke his wrist during an intrasquad game over the weekend and Blach had recently felt soreness in his pitching elbow. Given the length of recovery time for these surgeries, both Martin and Blach are now out of fantasy consideration for the shortened 2020 season.

Ty Blach Will Start Versus Yankees on Monday rotoballer.com Mon 8/12/19 6:36 PM

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Ty Blach will draw the start against the New York Yankees in the second game of the doubleheader on Monday. He pitched in two games earlier this season with the San Francisco Giants, but was claimed off waivers by the O's on August 3. He could see multiple starts for the Orioles, but doesn't have much fantasy value. He won't be a reliable DFS option against the Yankees offense.

2019 Relief Pitchers - Early Fantasy Baseball Tiered Rankings rotoballer.com Mon 1/14/19 7:00 AM

A tough position to evaluate is that of relief pitchers, as a lot of success for closers comes from success from teams. There are also a lot of bullpens by committee these days, further stifling the value of closers. That being said, only four of the pitchers that ranked in the top-10 in saves in 2017 followed up in 2018. One of those pitchers had a huge jump in saves, but [...]

Ty Blach To Start Saturday rotoballer.com Sat 8/11/18 8:32 AM

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Ty Blach will start against the Pirates on Saturday. The left-hander's most recent start in the big leagues came way back on May 27 against the Cubs when he allowed seven hits and five earned runs in three innings. In his 12 starts to open the year, Blach went 6-6 with a 4.90 ERA while striking out 30 hitters in 60 2/3 innings. He's been slightly better in a relief role, but Blach shouldn't be trusted as a streamer Saturday against a hot club.
