The Padres signed Adcock to a one-year contract Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Adcock got into three games with the Mets in 2025 but spent most of the season at Triple-A Syracuse, where he posted a 4.66 ERA and 35:14 K:BB over 36.2 frames. The right-handed reliever does not have minor-league options remaining and has previously been outrighted, so he'd seem to be a good bet to be part of the Padres' Opening Day bullpen.

The Mets released Adcock on Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adcock will have the ability to choose his next destination with the Mets cutting ties with him after he went unclaimed off waivers upon being designated for assignment Tuesday. The Mets claimed Adcock off waivers in late May, and the right-handed reliever gave up seven runs over 4.1 innings across three appearances for the big club during his brief time in the majors. He'll presumably have to settle for a minor-league deal in free agency.
