WFAN's Sweeny Murti reports that retired third baseman Troy Glaus has reached out to the Yankees about a potential comeback. Glaus, 36, hasn't appeared in the majors since 2010 and remains doubtful to unretire. According to Murti, free agent Cody Ransom has also expressed interest in joining the Yankees, though neither are expected to sign.

Buster Olney of ESPN.com reports that Troy Glaus does not intend to continue his playing career. Olney says that he actually bumped into Glaus at the Dallas airport a couple months ago and the 35-year-old told him then that he was finished playing. It's not a surprise, as Glaus had chances to sign with teams for the 2011 season but decided instead to spend more time with his family. If he's officially done, he finishes his career with a .254/.358/.489 batting line and 320 homers over 13 seasons.
