May (back) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
The club had planned to have May throw a bullpen session Friday, but his workout will now be a couple days earlier. Before getting placed on the DL on Aug. 10, May had built a 4.89 ERA and 1.25 WHIP after pitching 42.1innings over 43 games.

May (back) will throw a bullpen session Friday, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
May has been sidelined since the first week of August with a lower back strain, but he's recently begun throwing again and it looks as though he's ready to progress even further. It's unclear if he'll require a brief rehab assignment, but either way, the 26-year-old seems primed to rejoin the bullpen in early September.

May (back) has started a throwing program and could return by the end of August, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
May will likely return when rosters expand in September. He's had a disappointing season as many thought he could ascend to become Minnesota's closer. His back ailment may have been a big factor in his struggles.

May (bacK) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with a lower back strain, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
May had strung together seven straight scoreless outings (8.2 IP) before being an uncharacteristically bad outing Aug. 6 in which he allowed a home run and threw a pair ow wild pitches. The fact that he may have been dealing with lower back issues explains his struggles, and after a few days off, the Twins opted to place him on the DL rather than rush him back. J.T. Chargois was recalled to take May's spot on the active roster.

May has allowed five runs over his last 15.2 innings, spanning July and August.
EDGE Analysis
After a disastrous May and June (combined 9.95 ERA), the 26-year-old has steadied a bit, allowing runs just twice in his last 15 appearances. Even with his struggles, he has been particularly strong against lefties, posting a .140/.258/.263 line this season. Manager Paul Molitor's trust in May has deteriorated, though, and May is seeing limited close-game action, earning just one hold since May compared to the four he had in that month alone.

May (back) will be activated from the disabled list Tuesday, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Earlier Monday, there was some question as to the precise date of May's activation, but he'll indeed return to the Twins' bullpen in time for Tuesday's contest versus the A's. He could immediately be involved in high-leverage situations out of the bullpen due to the uncertain nature of the closing situation.

May (back) will not be activated from the DL until at least Tuesday and maybe a day or two longer, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
May appeared in games at Triple-A on Friday and Saturday, so he's ready to return. However, the Twins may wait another day or two to correspond with some other roster moves.

May (back) is expected to be activated from the disabled list Monday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
In his recent rehab stint with Triple-A Rochester, May allowed one run on one hit and no walks while striking out six in 3.2 innings. Expect him to resume a role in middle relief, at the very least, upon his return to the 25-man roster.
