Diamondbacks signed OF Trent Oeltjen to a minor league contract. Oeltjen announced the news himself on Twitter. The 31-year-old outfielder made it up to the majors with the D'Backs in 2009 but hasn't appear at the level since 2011. He hit .255/.345/.483 with 14 homers and 21 steals last season at Triple-A with the Dodgers.

Angels signed OF Trent Oeltjen to a minor league contract. It's not clear whether he'll be given an invitation to spring training. Oeltjen, 29, batted .294/.356/.485 at Triple-A with the Dodgers this season but has done very little in his time in the majors. He's merely organizational depth.

Dodgers designated OF Trent Oeltjen for assignment. The move was made in order to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Elian Herrera. Oeltjen is batting just .218/.283/.282 at Triple-A Albuquerque this season and should clear waivers and remain in the organization.

Dodgers optioned OF Trent Oeltjen to Triple-A Albuquerque. Oeltjen batted .278 with a .318 on-base percentage this spring, but he's too far down the Dodgers' outfield depth chart. He will function as organizational depth.

Trent Oeltjen went 0-for-3 and struck out twice in the loss to the Astros on Friday. The Dodgers probably won't give Oeltjen too long of a look if he doesn't start hitting soon. He's 2-for-11 with five strikeouts and two walks in his three starts. Maybe he'd be OK as a fourth or fifth outfielder, but there isn't a lot of upside here.
