However, the 23-year-old continues to put together a spectacular rookie campaign, slashing .341/.363/.532 over 173 at-bats.

The rest of the Nationals offense was dormant in this one, so their leadoff man failed to accrue any other statistics despite the strong showing at the plate. Turner has been setting the table exceptionally well of late for the Orioles, and now has nine multi-hit efforts in August. The poor effort on the base paths is likely just an aberration, as he came in with 14 steals in 15 attempts.

He's now hit safely in eight consecutive games and has racked up five steals in that span. It'd be nice to see Turner develop his plate discipline a little more, as he's got an unimpressive 4:27 BB:K, but he's still been an electric presence at the top of the Nationals' lineup, and the speedster's just getting started on what should be an illustrious career.

He also has 12 stolen bases for a 162-game pace of 65. In short, Turner has been a stellar leadoff man in his short time in the majors, and looks to have a bright future ahead of him.
