Turner went 1-for-5 with a walk, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's extra-inning loss to the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Despite the fact that he's hitting lower in the order, Turner already has five steals in five attempts through nine games. It's clear new manager Dave Martinez has no qualms about giving Turner a green light on the basepaths, so while the shortstop's outlook in steals would improve if he were hitting first or second in the lineup, he seems well on his way to matching or topping last season's career-high 46 SBs from right where he is.

Turner was ejected in the bottom of the sixth inning of Thursday's game against the Mets for arguing balls and strikes. He finished the day hitless in three at-bats.
EDGE Analysis
Batting out of the sixth spot for the fourth time in seven games this season, Turner struck out in all three of his plate appearances, marking the ninth time in his career he's achieved that dubious distinction. While Turner's low placement in the batting order has been a source of frustration for fantasy owners, the shortstop has more or less met expectations thus far with a .375 on-base percentage, one home run and three stolen bases to date. Moreover, Turner's outlook could improve in the games to come after Adam Eaton exited early Thursday following an awkward slide into home plate. If Eaton is forced to miss time, Turner would be the top choice to fill in at the top of the lineup.

Turner is starting at shortstop and occupying the leadoff spot Monday against the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
With Adam Eaton getting his first breather of the season, Turner, who has been hitting fifth or sixth to start the season, will slide up to the top of the order. The speedster spent a lot of time as the Nationals' leadoff man in 2017 after Adam Eaton went down with a torn ACL, slashing .268/.289/.460 across 90 starts atop the lineup. Turner will likely jump up in the order when Eaton requires a maintenance day, and he could stick there on a more regular basis if he impresses manager Davey Martinez at the dish.

Turner went 1-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
The steal was his first of the year. Turner has been hitting down in the order in the early going, slotting in fifth Sunday, and while that may end up costing him some opportunities to run wild on the basepaths, there's no guarantee he'll be stuck there all season. The shortstop has already drawn three walks through three games, and he seems intent on proving to manager Dave Martinez he has the OBP chops to hit at the top of the order.

Turner went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, a walk and two runs scored Saturday against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Turner contributed to the Nationals' 13-7 rout with a solo shot off Luis Castillo to lead off the fourth inning. He batted sixth for the second straight game, which could cut into his plate appearance total, though he came to the plate five times in this high-scoring affair and reached base three times.

Turner is batting sixth and playing shortstop in Friday's game against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
It's something of a surprise to see Turner moved down the order, as he hit exclusively first or second for the Nationals last season. He has prototypical leadoff man speed, though that trait has been decreasing in importance recently compared to on-base ability. Turner is respectable in that regard, with a .348 career on-base percentage, but Friday's leadoff man Adam Eaton and number two hitter Anthony Rendon both have .358 career figures. New Nationals manager Dave Martinez could be using that to drive his decision. It remains to be seen whether Turner will remain in the sixth spot or if this lineup is simply a one-off. If he sticks at sixth, it would drive down his run-scoring potential and his total plate appearances, which could leave him with fewer chances to steal bases.

Turner (toe) will man shortstop and bat second Wednesday in the Nationals' Grapefruit League game against the Astros, Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Turner was held out of action the past three days after experiencing an ingrown toenail, but the Nationals never expressed much concern over the injury. With outfielder Adam Eaton having recently resumed playing in Grapefruit League games and set to serve as the Nationals' leadoff hitter when the season opens, Turner will spend the remainder of the spring getting acclimated to manning the two hole on a full-time basis.

Turner is still dealing with an ingrown toenail but is expected to be back in the lineup Wednesday, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The issue remains minor and should not effect Turner by Opening Day, barring setbacks. The young shortstop is having a solid spring so far, hitting .324/.425/.353 in 14 games.

Turner has an ingrown toenail and will be held out of the Nationals' Grapefruit League game Monday against the Marlins, Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The issue is considered minor and Turner expects to return to spring action as soon as Tuesday. With Turner getting the day off Monday, non-roster invitee Matt Reynolds will pick up the start at shortstop, according to Janes.

Turner went 1-for-2 with two walks, two runs scored and two stolen bases in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Hitting second behind Wilmer Difo in order to get him acclimated to his likely new spot in the batting order, Turner pumped his spring OBP up to .424 while swiping his first two bases. He's had some uncharacteristic contact issues so far, striking out 12 times in 33 plate appearances, but that's unlikely to carry forward into the regular season. If Turner is able to play a full schedule this year, expect the 24-year-old to be a fantasy dynamo given his ability to contribute in all five major fantasy categories.
