Jankowski (ankle) was informed Saturday that he made the Padres' Opening Day roster.
EDGE Analysis
Jankowski was battling for one of the final spots on the roster, and he'll open the year as the team's fourth outfielder. The 24-year-old had been dealing with a bruised ankle last week, but he appears to be over the issue as Opening Day approaches.

Jankowski (ankle) will be sidelined for a few more days, Dennis Lin of the Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jankowski had to be helped off the field during Tuesday's exhibition game after he was hit on the ankle by a pitch. He has since been diagnosed with a left ankle contusion, but the expectation is that he'll be back on the field by the weekend. His absence over the next few days could result in more reps for fringe players such as Jabari Blash or Alexi Amarista in the outfield.

Jankowski suffered a left ankle contusion after being hit by a pitch Tuesday, Julie Alexandria of Fox Sports San Diego reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jankowski was unable to leave the field on his own power, and had to be taken off on a cart. While it's too early for an exact timetable, this puts the 24-year-old in jeopardy of not being ready by Opening Day, where he was expected to be the club's starting center fielder.

Jankowski was helped off the field after suffering an injury in Tuesday's Cactus League game, Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
It appeared as though Jankowski hurt his leg running from first base to third, but the exact nature of the injury remains unclear. It's obviously not an encouraging sign that he required assistance to get off the field, but the club will likely follow up at some point clarifying the extent of the ailment.

Jankowski will make his third straight start in center field Sunday against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Jankowski has been sharing time in center with Melvin Upton for much of September, but it seems he's pulled ahead in the playing-time picture. As a left-handed hitter, Jankowski should continue to enjoy the larger portion of a platoon over the season's final week, but it's hard to rely on him outside of NL-only leagues at this point. Jankowski is hitting just .217 with one homer and two steals across 69 at-bats.

Jankowski is out of the lineup Saturday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
It appears interim manager Pat Murphy has turned regular center field duties over to Melvin Upton, at least temporarily. After hitting .392 over 24 games at Triple-A El Paso, Jankowski has had a difficult time sustaining that success with the Padres, slashing just .222/.236/.315 in his first taste of the big leagues.

Jankowski is not in the lineup Friday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Jankowski has been seeing somewhat regular starts in center field, and despite collecting four hits in his last three games to raise his average to .222, he'll get his second day off in a row. Melvin Upton will get the start in center field in his place and bat sixth.

Jankowski is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Wil Myers will return to center field Saturday after playing first base Friday, pushing Jankowski to the bench following six consecutive starts. The 24-year-old Jankowski didn't do much in his first 14 career games, going 8-for-39 (.205 average) with one extra-base hit and nine strikeouts. It seems he may just be a part-time player moving forward.

Jankowski, 23, is batting .346/.443/.413 with seven RBI and 13 steals through 27 games for Double-A San Antonio. A wrist injury marred his 2014 campaign, but Jankowski swiped 71 bags in 2013 and appears to be rounding back into form. He has also been getting on base at a high clip, drawing more walks (18) than strikeouts (14). He has virtually no power, but any player who can hit for average and swipe 50-plus bases is worth monitoring.
