Travis Ishikawa (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville Saturday. He should only need a handful of at-bats, likely putting him in line to return early next week. With Norichika Aoki moving into an everyday role and Corey Hart sliding in to first base, Ishikawa's playing time might be limited when he comes back.

Travis Ishikawa homered in a second straight game Wednesday against the Astros. Ishikawa has played two in a row because Mat Gamel ha sa sore shoulder. Gamel is doing just fine at the plate so far, so Ishikawa still isn't in line for much playing time if Gamel proves heatlhy.

Travis Ishikawa has earned a 25-man roster spot. The 28-year-old beat out Brooks Conrad for the final spot on the Milwaukee bench. Ishikawa will function merely as a pinch-hitter in the early going but could see legitimate playing time at first base if Mat Gamel struggles.
