D'Arnaud is out of the lineup for the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, Newsday's Marc Carig reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although the doubleheader is the likely reason for d'Arnaud's absence in game one, the catcher could likely use some rest after starting the past four games behind the plate. In his place, Rene Rivera will catch Robert Gsellman in game one against the Braves.

D'Arnaud accounted for the final run of Tuesday's 10-8 loss to the Rangers with a ninth-inning solo homer, his only hit in five at-bats on the evening.
EDGE Analysis
While d'Arnaud isn't sitting on particularly shiny numbers, especially that .231 average, there's some hope to be found in his batting line. The 28-year-old catcher has a horribly low .217 BABIP despite dispensing line drives and hard-hit balls at the highest rates of his career, and his .253 ISO is easily a career best. There's hope yet for his long-suffering fantasy owners.

D'Arnaud is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
D'Arnaud has raised his batting average from .190 to .241 over his last five starts, but the Mets still want to keep him fresh, so he will get a day off after starting the previous two contests. Rene Rivera will get the nod behind the plate in d'Arnaud's place.

D'Arnaud is batting eighth and catching Thursday against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
D'Arnaud was given a day off Wednesday after also getting a breather Monday. Considering his injury-filled past -- including a disabled list trip due to wrist issues earlier this month -- New York continues to limit the workload of its No. 1 backstop, who carries a .221/.294/.481 line with five home runs in 85 plate appearances.

D'Arnaud has five hits over his past three starts, but he'll sit out of Wednesday's bout as the Mets continue to ease him back into regular action. Rene Rivera will assume catching duties for the evening.
