Watson was acquired by the Giants from the Angels in exchange for Sam Selman, Ivan Armstrong and Josh Marte on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Watson spent the previous three seasons with the Giants before signing with the Angels during the offseason, and he'll return to his former team ahead of the trade deadline. The veteran lefty will bolster the bullpen and should fill a middle relief role.

Watson (3-3) pitched a perfect inning to pick up the win over Tampa Bay on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The southpaw came into the contest with two outs and two runners on base in the seventh inning of a tie game. He got Austin Meadows to ground out to end the threat, then became the pitcher of record when Phil Gosselin led off the eighth with a solo home run. Watson retired the only two batters he faced in the bottom of the frame and earned the win when Raisel Iglesias converted a four-out save. Over his past four outings, Watson has held opponents without a run across three innings, though he hasn't registered any strikeouts over that span.

Watson (2-3) was unable to retire any batters in his appearance against Oakland on Wednesday, allowing six runs on five hits and one walk to take the loss.
EDGE Analysis
Watson entered the contest in the sixth inning with the Angels ahead by two runs. By the time he left, Oakland had seized the lead without making any additional outs. The southpaw wasn't exactly pummeled -- all five hits against him were singles (including one that didn't leave the infield) -- and the one free pass he issued was intentional, but the outing ranks as the worst of his career. Per Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register, Watson had never before allowed more than four runs in any appearance. The veteran reliever's ERA shot up from 3.43 to 6.00 as a result of the disastrous performance, but Watson should retain a prominent role in the Angels' bullpen.

EDGE Analysis
Watson entered to begin the eighth frame with the Angels up one and ended up walking two batters before allowing a run to score on a rushed throw to first base. EDGE Analysis
Watson came in to relieve Shohei Ohtani with two outs in the fifth and struck out Eddie Rosario to get out of the inning. He came back out for the sixth and issued a leadoff walk to Jose Ramirez who wound up scoring the go-ahead run on an infield single. The 36-year-old left-hander owns a 2.57 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and an 11:2 K:BB over 14 innings in his first season with the Angels.

The southpaw entered the contest in the fifth frame with no outs, a pair of runners on base and Los Angeles holding a four-run lead. He was credited with the win after setting Cesar Hernandez, Jake Bauers and Jose Ramirez down on strikes. Watson (1-1) was tagged with the loss Friday against Boston as a result of allowing two runs on two hits in one inning. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran reliever was summoned in the seventh inning with Los Angeles up by a run. He couldn't protect the lead, serving up a two-run home run to Bobby Dalbec that provided the winning margin. Watson has been one of the top performers in a beleaguered Angels bullpen this season and still holds a 2.25 ERA despite the poor outing. He should continue to be used in high-leverage situations moving forward.

Watson earned a hold by pitching a perfect 1.2 innings against Houston on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Watson was extremely efficient with his pitches in the relief appearance, needing only 13 -- eight of which were strikes -- to retire five batters. The left-hander has now logged seven consecutive scoreless outings, allowing only two hits over 7.2 innings during that stretch. He's clearly cementing a trusted role in the Angels' bullpen, as Watson has been credited with a hold in each of his past three appearances.

The Angels activated Watson (calf) from the 10-day injured list ahead of Sunday's game against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Los Angeles will swap out two right-handed pitchers on the active roster with two lefties, as Watson and Jose Suarez (recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake) will replace Felix Pena (optioned to Triple-A) and Alex Cobb (placed on 10-day IL with finger injury). Watson should step back into a high-leverage setup role for the Angels after he pitched effectively in his first nine outings with the club before being placed on the IL on May 2 with the minor left calf strain.

Watson (calf) is in contention to return from the injured list when first eligible Sunday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
If Watson doesn't make it back Sunday, he's expected to return early next week. He was having a strong season before being shut down with a calf strain, allowing just one run on five hits and a walk in 8.1 innings of relief.
