Redmond was outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday, MLB.com's Gregor Chisholm reports. Redmond has been dumped from the Blue Jays' 40-man roster three times already this season, but with no team willing to put in a waiver claim on him, he's never exited the organization. He'll work in a mop-up role at Triple-A while he waits for an opening in the Toronto bullpen to come about.

Redmond was designated for assignment Thursday following Toronto's loss to Boston, Sportsnet reports. Despite throwing a one-hit scoreless inning Thursday, Redmond's 7.31 ERA on the season factored into him being designated for assignment. The Blue Jays optioned Thursday's starter, Matt Boyd, as well following the series finale against Boston. The team has yet to announce corresponding moves for Boyd and Redmond.

Redmond pitched 3.1 innings, scattering two hits and a walk while allowing no earned runs in Tuesday's loss to the Red Sox. After giving up multiple earned runs in each of his first four appearances, Redmond is on something of a roll with two straight scoreless appearances. After Marco Estrada couldn't make it out of the third inning, Redmond gave them the length they needed. Redmond has a higher chance of being demoted back to Triple-A than seeing higher leverage situations, but performances such as Tuesday's will only help his case.

Matt Boyd will likely replace Redmond as the scheduled starter for Saturday's game against the Rangers, Sportsnet's Barry Davis reports. Redmond was recalled Monday and promptly allowed two runs over 1.2 innings out of the bullpen. He's given up multiple runs in each of his four appearances this season, and the Blue Jays may prefer to keep him in a long relief/mop-up role, if they don't demote him to Triple-A Buffalo.

Redmond was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday, SportsNet's Ben Nicholson-Smith reports. Redmond will likely start Saturday's game against the Rangers, replacing Scott Copeland in the rotation. With Aaron Sanchez (back) expected to return within the next few weeks, there's no guarantee Redmond will get another start after Sunday. The 30-year-old has struggled at both the Triple-A and big-league levels this year.

Redmond will likely be recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday, Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith reports. Redmond will likely take the rotation spot of Scott Copeland, who was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday. Redmond's start would line up for Saturday against the Rangers in Toronto, but with Aaron Sanchez (back) expected to return in late June or early July, Redmond probably won't stick in the rotation for long. The 30-year-old was a decent reliever for Toronto the past two seasons, but he's struggled in both the majors and minors this year.

Redmond cleared waivers Friday and was outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo. Redmond was decent for the Blue Jays in 2013 and 2014, but he's given up 11 earned runs on nine hits (two home runs) and six walks through just 8.1 innings this season. He'll need a nice stretch at Triple-A Buffalo to become an option for the big-league bullpen again.

Redmond had some struggles in a spot-start Monday, allowing three runs in four innings to the Angels. Redmond's spot-start was actually slightly better than his two turbulent relief appearances earlier this season, in which he allowed eight runs in 4.1 innings. Redmond may be ticketed for a return to Triple-A, where he holds a 4.50 ERA in 14 innings.

Redmond will start for the Blue Jays on Monday against the Angels, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet.ca reports. Redmond was recalled by the team late Sunday night, and he'll be manager John Gibbons' choice to take the hill Monday afternoon against the Angels. The right-hander struggled in two relief appearances this season, allowing four earned runs in each, but has been a bit better at Triple-A, giving up seven earned runs on 15 hits over 14 innings. The rest of the Toronto starters will be pushed back a day, starting with Aaron Sanchez on Tuesday.
