Todd Helton (forearm) will rest for 4-5 days before being re-evaluated. Helton was finally placed on the DL Thursday after missing the last five games with left forearm inflammation. If the injury responds after the 4-5 days of rest, he could be ready for activation when first eligible on May 5. The inflammation in the tendon leaves him vulnerable to a more serious injury if he doesn't get it under control, though.

Rockies placed 1B Todd Helton on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 20, with left forearm inflammation. Helton has struggled to make any progress this week, so the move became increasingly inevitable. Ryan Wheeler has been called up from Triple-A Colorado Springs and will provide another option at first base alongside Michael Cuddyer and Jordan Pacheco.

Todd Helton (forearm) will attempt to play the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Braves. Helton hasn't played since Friday due to a left forearm strain and received a cortisone shot Sunday. If he isn't able to play Tuesday night, it's possible that he'll be placed on the disabled list. Jordan Pacheco is playing first base in the first game of the doubleheader.

Todd Helton was held out of the Rockies lineup on Saturday with a left forearm strain. Helton suffered the injury on a swing during Tuesday's doubleheader but played through the pain in hopes it would go away. He said the injury isn't serious enough that he can't play, but he was held out of the lineup as a precaution. He's considered day-to-day.

Todd Helton delivered a pinch hit two-run homer against the Padres on Sunday. Helton came off the bench to hit a two-run shot off Dale Thayer in seventh inning and get the win for the Rockies. He put together an impressive series this weekend after going 3-for-4 with an RBI double on Friday. Helton had been struggling to this point, but his swing may finally be starting to come around.

Todd Helton has returned to the Rockies' starting lineup on Friday after being given a day of rest on Wednesday. Helton indicated that he feels fine and is confident that his swing will come around shortly. The veteran slugger is hitting .095/.136/.095 with two RBI through his first 21 at-bats on the season. At this stage of his career, he's a fringe play even in NL-only formats.

Todd Helton is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Brewers. Helton started the first two games of the series, so he's just getting a breather. Fantasy owners can count on plenty of regular rest for the 39-year-old, who will likely retire after the 2013 season. Jordan Pacheco will start in his place at first base.

Todd Helton admits that his surgically-repaired left knee still bothers him from time to time. "The knee has given me a little bit of a problem," he said. "When I walked out of surgery I didn't feel a thing. But at some point this spring I started feeling it. So it hurts, now and then, but I know that will go away again." Helton will be the Rockies' first baseman on Opening Day, but he's a poor bet to stay healthy and even if he does should end up sharing the position.
