This is the second time in 14 appearances (13 starts) this season Myers has managed to toss eight scoreless frames, having also done so versus the Tigers on June 7. The right-hander has a quality start in five of his last seven outings. He's pitched to an excellent 3.13 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 62:20 K:BB through 72 innings. Joe Ross (back) may be able to return to the Brewers' rotation in late July, but Myers looks to have done enough to keep a starting role throughout the campaign.

Myers allowed multiple baserunners in each of the first two frames, leading to three runs coming home early for Colorado. He then cruised through the next two innings before surrendering a solo shot to Jake Cave in the sixth, marking the second game in a row in which the 25-year-old has given up a home run. Myers also allowed a season-high eight hits on the night en route to being handed his first loss since May 4 against the Cubs. On a positive note, he's now gone at least six innings in five of his last six starts.

Sunday was the first time since May 31 that he didn't pitch past the fifth inning -- he exited with 78 pitches (56 strikes). He's tentatively lined up to make his next start at home versus the Cubs.

The right-hander is quickly growing into a trusted starter for the Brewers amid the team's brutal run of injuries to pitchers. Myers has a 3.26 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 42:16 K:BB through 47 innings over 10 appearances (nine starts) this year. He doesn't stand out by most metrics, though he's been able to use his four-seam fastball, slider and changeup effectively so far. Myers is projected to make his next start on the road at San Diego.
