Tawa isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The D-backs will keep Tawa on the bench Saturday after he went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Friday's series opener. His absence will allow Ildemaro Vargas to start at first base and bat eighth.

Tawa will start at first base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Tawa will pick up his fifth consecutive start and his fourth in a row at first base, where he appears to have emerged as Arizona's preferred option in the wake of season-ending injuries to Pavin Smith (quadriceps) and Tyler Locklear (elbow). Since being called up from Triple-A Reno on Monday, Tawa has gone 5-for-13 with two doubles, two walks, five runs and one RBI.

Tawa started at first base and went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 5-3 win over San Francisco.
EDGE Analysis
Tawa helped Arizona build an early lead with a run-producing single in the second inning and then scored the team's final run in the sixth. He's made two straight starts -- Tawa started in center field against a left-hander Tuesday. Wednesday's start at first was just his 11th in the pros, and he made a nice pick on a throw to keep Luis Matos off the bases. With MLB.com reporting that Tyler Locklear (elbow) is expected to miss the rest of the season, Tawa (against lefties) and Ildemaro Vargas (righties) will likely share first base going forward. Tawa also gives manager Torey Lovullo a right-handed bat to use against southpaws.

Tawa (undisclosed) was reinstated from the minor-league injured list and recalled from Triple-A Reno on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Tawa was placed on the 7-day injured list in mid-August due to a fractured rib, but he's since returned to health and will now join the big-league roster to presumably contribute as a utility man. He'll take the spot of Tyler Locklear, who was placed on the 10-day IL due to left elbow inflammation.

Triple-A Reno placed Tawa on its 7-day injured list Aug. 2 due to an unspecified injury.
EDGE Analysis
After being demoted to Reno on July 5, Tawa went just 3-for-31 (.097 average) with 11 strikeouts in nine games before landing on the IL. The utility player is without a timeline to return to action for Reno, and his poor production prior to getting hurt suggests he won't be a high-priority call-up for Arizona when the roster expands in September.

The Diamondbacks optioned Tawa to Triple-A Reno on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Tawa has struggled during his time in the majors, slashing .200/.262/.355 with six homers, 14 RBI, 21 runs scored and seven steals through 173 plate appearances. He'll be sent back to Triple-A in order to get back on track, clearing space on the roster for Corbin Carroll's (wrist) return from the injured list.

Tawa started at first base and went 0-for-3 in a 7-2 loss to the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Tawa filled in for Josh Naylor, who was held out against San Francisco lefty Robbie Ray. Naylor, who recently experienced neck stiffness, had just returned to the starting lineup Wednesday as the designated hitter, and the decision to sit him Thursday does not appear to be injury related. Tawa has gone hitless over his last 24 at-bats while striking 10 times (41.7 percent strikeout rate).

Tawa came off the bench in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the White Sox and went 0-for-3 with a run scored. Ildemaro Vargas (foot) was removed. Tawa went 0-for-3 with a run scored in a 4-1 win over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Ildemaro Vargas drew the start at third base in place of Eugenio Suarez (hand), but Tawa was needed off the bench for the second straight game to replace an injured teammate. After filling in for Josh Naylor (shoulder) at first base in Monday's 10-0 win, Tawa entered Tuesday as a replacement for Ildemaro Vargas, who fractured his right foot. Vargas is likely to go on the injured list, while Suarez is expected to miss multiple days as he continues to deal with significant hand swelling, per Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com. In the interim, Tawa could be in line for a few starts at third base, but Arizona is also expected to recall infielder Blaze Alexander from Triple-A Reno to provide another option at the position.

Tawa entered Monday's game at first base in the fourth inning and went 0-for-2. He replaced Josh Naylor (shoulder), who injured his right shoulder following an awkward swing in the second inning.
EDGE Analysis
As the Diamondbacks were facing a right-hander, Pavin Smith was already in the game as the designated hitter, so Arizona manager Torey Lovullo went with Tawa. The manager told Casey Drottar of MLB.com that Naylor plans to return to the field Tuesday.

Tawa started in center field and went 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored in Friday's 14-8 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Tawa got the start in place of Alek Thomas against a lefty. His playing time has been sporadic since second baseman Ketel Marte returned from injury -- this was just Tawa's second start in two weeks. He was a below-.200 hitter when Marte was activated May 2, but Tawa has put together a .273 average since then in part-time duty.
