Alyson Footer of MLB.com reports that free agent right-hander Tim Redding has chosen to retire. Redding hangs up the spikes having spent eight seasons in the big leagues. He wore the uniforms of the Astros, Padres, Yankees, Nationals, and Mets. The 35-year-old compiled a 4.95 career ERA over 822 1/3 innings.

Blue Jays signed RHP Tim Redding to a minor league contract. We're not sure if he'll be getting an invite to spring training or not, but he won't be making the club even if he does. Redding hasn't appeared in a major league game since 2009 and held a 6.24 ERA over 18 games at the Triple-A level this past season.

Phillies signed RHP Tim Redding to a minor league contract. Redding likely had an out-clause in his minor league contract with the Dodgers. The veteran right-hander had an ugly 6.59 ERA over his first 13 starts with Triple-A Albuquerque this season. He'll function as organizational depth with the Phils.
