Tim Hudson was hammered in Friday's no-decision against the Mets, allowing four runs on eight hits in just four innings of work.
Hudson punched out three and walked two in the unimpressive outing. After sailing through the first three innings, Hudson allowed five hits and a walk in the fourth inning alone, leading to four Mets runs. After allowing five total runs in the month of June, Hudson has now had two absolute disasters in three July outings. He'll look to put this one behind him and get back on track when he battles the Giants at home on Thursday.

Tim Hudson received a second cortisone shot to his ailing left ankle on Friday.
He aggravated his ankle pain while scattering just four hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings against the Phillies that evening. Hudson will receive six days of rest between starts. The 36-year-old righty should be ready to rock after the All-Star break.

Tim Hudson turned in a very impressive performance against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday, allowing just one run on seven hits over eight innings.
Hudson fanned seven and walked only one in the game. Jason Kubel's solo home run in the third inning was the only offense the D'Backs could muster against him. After a rough month of May, Hudson has gotten back on track in the month of June, going 3-1 with a 1.93 ERA and 23/9 K/BB ratio over 28 innings. He'll look to continue his recent success when he takes on the Nationals at home on Sunday.

Tim Hudson (ankle) will start Wednesday against the Yankees.
We assumed as much after he made it through a bullpen session Monday with no apparent options, but it's now official. Hudson was skipped in the rotation Sunday due to bone chips in his left ankle, but he has felt improvement since receiving a cortisone shot. It shouldn't be an issue moving forward.

The hope is that he'll only miss one start and return next Wednesday against the Yankees. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's David O'Brien, Hudson reported improvement after receiving a cortisone shot the week and is considered day-to-day. Julio Teheran has been summoned to take his spot in the rotation Sunday.

Tim Hudson spun his 13th career shutout Tuesday, holding the Marlins to just five hits and three walks while striking out three in the 11-0 win.
He completed the game in just 108 pitches, pitching around an error that led off the ninth. The outing comes on the heels of a couple duds for Hudson that had pushed his ERA up to 4.60. That mark is now down to 3.83, to go along with a 1.19 WHIP. Hudson will try to keep it going this weekend against the Blue Jays.
