Okert was optioned back to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Hunter Strickland returning from paternity leave, Okert will head back to Sacramento for the time being. He didn't make an appearance during his brief stint with the Giants, though he'll remain one of the top options should another opportunity in the bullpen arise.

The Giants recalled Okert on Friday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Okert is taking the roster spot of Hunter Strickland, who's on paternity leave. Okert likely will perform mere mop-up duty if needed until Strickland returns.

Okert was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The club was choosing between Okert and Neil Ramirez to fill their final spot in the bullpen. Although Okert has experience with the big club, as he posted a 3.21 ERA and 1.29 WHIP over 16 games (14 innings) in 2016, Ramirez ultimately got the nod to be on the Opening Day roster. While it's possible that Okert could work his way back up to the majors at some point this season, he'll return to Sacramento for the time being.

With Will Smith's (elbow) status for Opening Day in question, Okert's chances of making the cut increase.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old was competing with fellow southpaw, Josh Osich, for the Giants' final bullpen spot. With Smith going down to injury, both lefties could end up making the squad after all. Okert had already put himself in a great position to earn a roster spot this spring, tossing six innings of shutout ball with three strikeouts and one walk. It is unclear if either lefty will fill the role of left-handed setup man if Smith does start the year on the disabled list.

Okert will compete for a spot on the 25-man roster this spring, CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Okert received a cup of coffee last September, striking out 14 batters over 14 innings. With Javier Lopez retiring Wednesday, there is one spot open for a left-handed specialist on the 25-man roster. Okert figures to compete with Josh Osich (knee) for that spot. The latter has more of a major league track record, but is also coming off of minor knee surgery. How they perform this spring should ultimately decide who wins the vacant job.

Okert blew his first save opportunity Tuesday, serving up a three-run homer to Ryan Schimpf in a 6-4 loss to the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Bruce Bochy called upon the young lefty to get the final out in the ninth inning after Hunter Strickland struggled to get San Diego batters out. That turned out to be a poor decision as Schimpf smashed Okert's fourth pitch over Triple's Alley at AT&T Park. The Giants and their bullpen continue to struggle to close out games in the second half of the season. This is likely the last time we see Okert attempt to close a game in 2016 with Bochy having several other lefties at his disposal.

Okert was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Okert will return to the Giants for the first time since mid-June. In seven appearances for the big league club on the season, he's allowed eight hits and four earned runs across 6.0 innings. At Salt Lake, the 24-year-old holds a 3.80 ERA and 1.35 WHIP across 47.1 innings of relief.

Okert was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, freelance writer Andrew Baggarly reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Giants are simply being proactive here, as they will option an extraneous reliever in order to make room for the pending activation of Santiago Casilla from the paternity list. Okert appeared in two games for the Giants since his Friday call-up, tossing a total of five pitches.

Okert was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
While Santiago Casilla is on the paternity list, Okert will take the open bullpen spot during his absence. In a stint with San Francisco earlier in the season, Okert allowed four runs across 5.2 innings of work while opponents hit .318 with a .400 on-base percentage.

EDGE Analysis
With outfielder Mac Williamson coming up from Triple-A on Monday, the Giants needed to clear a spot on the 25-man roster. Okert will return to Sacramento after posting a 6.35 ERA with six strikeouts across 5.2 major league innings.
