Okert was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Okert had a disappointing 2017 season. The southpaw posted a 5.67 ERA and 1.30 WHIP over 44 games (27 innings) and put together a poor 22:11 K:BB. Although he's shown improvement this spring, giving up just one run over 4.2 innings, he'll return to Triple-A Sacramento.

Okert allowed one walk while striking out two over a scoreless inning in Thursday's spring win over Seattle.
EDGE Analysis
Okert is on the outside looking in when it comes to the Giants' projected Opening Day bullpen. The southpaw has looked sharp in his first four spring appearances, but he will have to build off this momentum to overtake fellow lefty, Josh Osich, to earn one of the club's final bullpen jobs.

The Giants recalled Okert from Triple-A Sacramento, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
The southpaw owns a 6.75 major-league ERA in 21.1 innings. Okert will work the middle innings, likely during mostly low-leverage appearances.

Okert was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Okert threw 1.2 scoreless innings (34 pitches) in Friday's loss and would have been unavailable for a couple days, so the Giants decided to swap him out for a fresh arm. The lefty has struggled throughout most of the season, but he will likely be on the shuttle back to San Francisco the next time bullpen reinforcements are needed.

Okert has pitched in 5.2 innings since being called up June 23, collecting seven strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
On the season, Okert's strikeouts stands at 14 in 18.2 innings with a high ERA of 6.75. It's been a step backwards for the reliever, who made his major league debut in 2016 and recorded 14 strikeouts in 14.0 innings with an ERA of 6.75. The big difference has been his lack of composure with runners on base. He's only stranding 50 percent of baserunners, an incredibly low number that should only improve as Okert continues getting chances.

Okert was recalled Friday from Triple-A Sacramento, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Okert was sent down to Triple-A to regain confidence, and he performed admirably for Sacramento. he notched four saves over 12 innings with a 2.25 ERA and a sparkling 0.67 WHIP. Okert owns a 6.23 ERA at the MLB level this season, but the Giants are hoping he'll pitch more like he did in his first major league sting last season, when he managed a 3.21 ERA and 14 strikeouts in as many innings.

Okert was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Aaron Hill (forearm) was reinstated from the DL and Okert was optioned down in a corresponding move. Manager Bruce Bochy told Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle that he feels Okert needs to regain his confidence in a less stressful environment. Okert has given up nine runs on 12 hits and six walks in 13 innings so far this season.

Manager Bruce Bochy named Derek Law the head of the closer committee that will fill in while Mark Melancon (elbow) is on the disabled list, but Okert could see situational save opportunities, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Law is clearly the reliever to target for save chances, but Okert may be deployed in the ninth against opponents who boast lefty-heavy lineups. His 5.06 ERA doesn't look appealing, but the young southpaw has held his own in high-leverage situations this season, collecting two holds without blowing a lead. Melancon isn't expected to be out for long, so Okert may not see many save opportunities, if any at all.

Okert earned a tough five-out hold Monday, allowing no baserunners and striking out one in a 4-3 win over the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Bruce Bochy called upon Okert to record five of the final six outs of Monday's win, and the southpaw came through with flying colors. He fared batter this time around after giving up three runs against the Dodgers last Thursday. The 25-year-old's 5.14 ERA through seven innings is unsavory, but he should see some hold chances against lefty-heavy lineups as the only left-hander in the Giants' bullpen.

Okert was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Okert was up with the Giants for a brief stint earlier this season, but did not make an appearance before he was sent back down. The left-hander will take the roster spot of Jarrett Parker (broken clavicle) in the short term, though it's likely the team eventually uses the spot to add outfield help.
