Steven Matz Placed On DL rotoballer.com Fri 8/3/18 12:12 PM

The New York Mets placed starting pitcher Steven Matz (arm) on the 10-day disabled list on Friday with a flexor pronator strain. In a corresponding move, pitcher Corey Oswalt was called up from the minors to take Matz's spot in the rotation on Sunday against the Braves. Matz's injury isn't serious, so he may not miss much time. He hasn't been good of late, but perhaps the injury was to blame. Oswalt has a 5.27 ERA, 0.99 [...]

Steven Matz Likely To Miss Next Start rotoballer.com Thu 8/2/18 12:24 PM

New York Mets starting pitcher Steven Matz (arm) is dealing with a mild flexor pronator strain in his left arm and is likely to miss his next start. The Mets could place him on the disabled list. "There's a good chance we take the conservative route," assistant general manager John Ricco said. Matz had been struggling in his last several starts, but it all came to a head earlier this week when he allowed seven earned runs in less than an inning to the Nationals. He shouldn't be out too long, bu[...]

No Structural Damage For Steven Matz rotoballer.com Thu 8/2/18 8:27 AM

New York Mets starting pitcher Steven Matz's (forearm) MRI exam revealed no structural damage. Matz appears to have dodged a bullet here, but it's still unknown if he'll make his next start this weekend. Even if he does, he's not a recommended fantasy play after he allowed seven earned runs in less than an inning in his last outing. On the season, the left-hander is 5-9 with a 4.35 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 8.3 K/9 over 21 starts.

Steven Matz To Have MRI On Forearm rotoballer.com Wed 8/1/18 7:01 AM

New York Mets starting pitcher Steven Matz (forearm), who complained of a dead arm on Tuesday, experienced some forearm tightness and will likely have an MRI exam Wednesday or Thursday, according to manager Mickey Callaway. The left-hander had a disaster of an outing Tuesday in the team's 25-4 whipping, allowing seven earned runs in just two-thirds of an inning. It's safe to say that he won't be a recommended fantasy option in his next start, if he even makes one this weekend.

Steven Matz Dealing With Dead Arm rotoballer.com Tue 7/31/18 6:59 PM

New York Mets starting pitcher Steven Matz, who didn't make it out of the first inning against the Nationals on Tuesday, said he's dealing with a dead arm/fatigue phase. "I feel healthy and good. It's hard to describe," Matz said. The left-hander allowed eight hits and seven earned runs while walking one and striking out two in just two-thirds of an inning Tuesday in an embarrassing 25-4 loss. He's seen his ERA rise to 4.35 recently, and he shouldn't be trusted in his next start.

Adam Eaton Sitting Out on Thursday rotoballer.com Thu 7/12/18 2:43 PM

Washington Nationals outfielder Adam Eaton (rest) is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the New York Mets. Michael A. Taylor will jump into the starting lineup batting seventh and playing center field against lefty Steven Matz. This is clearly just a platoon move to get Taylor in the lineup versus left-handed pitching. However, Taylor has mediocre number against left-handed pitching, so he's probably not the best bet for DFS contests on Thursday.
