Kwan will undergo an MRI on his injured left hamstring Sunday, Paul Hoynes of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Kwan's RBI triple in the fifth inning gave the Guardians a 2-0 lead, and he plated the decisive run with a double in the 10th. He ended up a home run short of the cycle in Wednesday's strong performance. The leadoff hitter has gone 11-for-28 (.393) during his seven-game hitting streak, and he's slashing an excellent .360/.403/.512 with three homers, 11 RBI, 27 runs scored, three stolen bases, six doubles and two triples over 29 contests this season.

Kwan went 2-for-5 with two runs and a stolen base Saturday in an extra-inning victory versus Atlanta.

Kwan's speed was on display throughout the contest, as neither of his base knocks left the infield and he crossed the plate on a steal of home in the eighth inning. The third-year outfielder had had an impressive beginning to the campaign, notching at least one hit in 17 of his 26 contests. He's slashing .345/.378/.469 with three homers, eight RBI, 25 runs and three thefts through 119 plate appearances.

Kwan went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 6-2 loss to Atlanta.

EDGE Analysis

He led off the game by ripping a Chris Sale sinker down the right-field line, but not much else went right for the Guardians on the night. Kwan managed only 11 homers total in his first two big-league seasons, but the 26-year-old already has three in 25 games to begin 2024. He's still making plenty of contact, too, sitting third in the AL in batting average at .343, just behind Jose Altuve (.346) and Salvador Perez (.344).

It's already Kwan's 10th multi-hit game of the season but his first one with four base knocks. He hasn't done a ton of running yet for a guy who has gotten on base at a .394 clip, but Kwan picked up his second steal in this one and first since March 29. The 26-year-old also already has a couple home runs after hitting only five in 718 plate appearances last season.

Kwan is out of the lineup for Thursday's contest in Boston.

It's too early to project a career year in power for the outfielder, but he's never hit more than six homers in a campaign, so it's a low bar to hurdle. He's also been exceptional with his contact-hitting approach so far, slashing .386/.397/.526 with five RBI, 13 runs scored and a stolen base through 58 plate appearances atop the Guardians' lineup.
