Baz (6-3) earned the win Sunday against the Mets, yielding three hits and four walks over 6.2 scoreless innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
The Tampa Bay right-hander produced his first scoreless outing since April 25 at San Diego en route to securing his fifth quality start. Baz generated a solid 15 whiffs out of his 106 total pitches to mark his third straight outing with five or more Ks. With this effort, the 25-year-old lowered his ERA from 4.97 to 4.54 through 77.1 total frames. Baz lines up to make his next start in next weekend's home series against the Tigers, who rank sixth in total runs scored.

Baz completed 5.1 innings against Boston on Monday, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks while striking out five batters in a no-decision.
EDGE Analysis
Baz was excellent through four innings, giving up zero runs and allowing just three baserunners. The right-hander gave up a run in the fifth but still entered the sixth frame in line for a victory. However, Baz allowed the first two batters he faced in that inning to reach base (on a walk and a hit-by-pitch), and both came around to score after his departure. Baz has been mediocre but consistent in his past three outings, giving up exactly three runs while completing between 5.0 and 5.2 frames in each start. His numbers on the campaign -- including a 4.97 ERA and 1.34 WHIP -- are also mediocre, though he's managed to compile a 5-3 record. Baz will look to improve upon that mark in his next start, which lines up to be a tough road test against the Mets.

Baz (5-3) earned the win Wednesday against the Rangers after giving up three runs on five hits and one walk in five innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
While Baz did record the most punchouts in his past four outings, he remains without a quality start over his last seven appearances. It's worth noting Jonah Heim's 356-foot two-run shot in the fifth frame would have been a homer in only three MLB ballparks, per Statcast. The right-hander delivered a 2.45 ERA through his first five starts, but he's stumbled to a 7.26 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 19:13 K:BB across his last 31 innings. Baz will be looking to turn things around the next time he takes the mound, which lines up for early next week against the Red Sox.

Baz didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Astros after allowing three runs on seven hits and no walks in 5.2 innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Baz got just four whiffs, but he did come just one out short of what could've been his first quality start since April 25. Although it was the first time the right-hander didn't issue a walk in his last eight starts, Baz still owns a rough 7.26 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 19:13 K:BB over his last six outings (31 innings). After posting a 2.45 ERA through his first five appearances in 2025, Baz should have a prime opportunity to get back on track his next time out versus a Rangers team that has a miserable .602 OPS in the month of May.

Baz (4-3) came away with the win against the Blue Jays on Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and three walks while striking out four across 5.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Baz was able to work out of a bases-loaded jam in the second inning and kept the Blue Jays off the board through the first five frames of Saturday's game. His lone blemish came in the sixth when he yielded a solo home run to Vladimir Guerrero, and Baz was taken out of the game before recording the final out of the frame for what would have been his fifth quality start of the season. Still, the 25-year-old right-hander got enough support from the bullpen to earn his first win since April 25 against the Padres. He'll take a 4.94 ERA and 1.39 WHIP (across 54.2 innings) into his next start, tentatively slated for next week on the road against the Astros.

Baz (3-3) took the loss Sunday at Miami, allowing five runs on nine hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Despite generating a solid 13 whiffs out of 96 total pitches, Baz fanned just two batters. This outing continues a tough stretch for the Tampa Bay right-hander, as he's conceded 21 runs on 30 hits across his last 19.2 innings (9.61 ERA). Through 49 total innings, Baz sports an unsightly 5.33 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 48:19 K:BB. He'll look to right the ship in his next start, which currently lines up to be against the Blue Jays at home next weekend.

Baz allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out six in 4.2 innings Tuesday against the Blue Jays. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Baz jumped out to a great start by retiring seven in a row while striking out four. His second time through the order wasn't as successful, as Bo Bichette and Daulton Varsho took him deep in the third and fourth frames. Baz failed to make it to five innings for a second straight outing and has struggled after a really strong beginning to the season. Over his last five starts, Baz owns a 7.88 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 19:12 K:BB. He'll aim to bounce back in a road matchup versus the Marlins this weekend.

Baz (3-2) took the loss Wednesday against the Phillies after allowing six runs on eight hits and two walks in 3.1 innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
After giving up a season-high seven runs on nine hits in his last start, Baz struggled mightily once again. Wednesday matched his shortest outing of the season, and the right-hander has now yielded five runs or greater in three of his last four appearances. During this stretch, Baz has a 8.38 ERA and 13:10 K:BB over 19.1 innings. He'll look to get back on track in his next scheduled start against the Blue Jays, who have a weak .643 OPS against right-handed pitching through 35 games.

Baz (3-1) took the loss Thursday against the Royals, allowing seven runs on nine hits and three walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
Baz managed to work around traffic to keep the Royals off the board in his first three innings. He'd eventually give up a run in the fourth before Kansas City exploded for six runs over Baz's final 2.2 frames. The right-hander has been excellent in four of his six starts this year, allowing just three runs in 26 innings. However, he's now given up 12 runs across nine frames in his other two outings. Overall, Baz sports a 3.86 ERA with a 1.17 WHIP and 37:12 K:BB this season. He'll look to rebound in his next start, currently scheduled for next week against the Phillies.

Baz (3-0) earned the win Friday against the Padres after allowing four hits and one walk in seven scoreless innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
After giving up a season-high five runs in his last start versus the Yankees, Baz bounced back in a big way Friday. The right-hander scattered four singles, matching a season high in innings pitched while turning in his fourth outing this year with at least six frames and two runs allowed or fewer. Baz holds an outstanding 2.45 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 36:9 K:BB across 29.1 innings in 2025, and he has a favorable matchup against the Royals in his next scheduled start. Kansas City ranks last in MLB in home runs as a team (12).
