Smith is out of the lineup Sunday against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Smith will sit out for the third time of the series with the Red Sox bringing a left-hander (Chris Sale) to the hill. Joey Rickard once again replaces Smith in left field while occupying the leadoff spot.

Smith is not in the lineup for Saturday's matchup against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Smith homered in Friday's game, but he will be held out Saturday against a southpaw -- David Price -- as usual, and Joey Rickard will hit leadoff instead.

Smith went 1-for-4 with a solo homer Friday against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Smith launched his fifth bomb of the year in the first inning to begin the scoring for the O's in a home victory. He's currently slashing .270/.343/.443, and he's only a recommended fantasy option in very deep leagues.

Smith is not in the lineup Thursday against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
As usual, Smith will head to the bench for a day off with the Red Sox sending a left-handed starter to the mound. Mark Trumbo will slide into the outfield to replace him while Joey Rickard picks up a start to fill out the outfield. Smith will likely get back into the lineup Friday, but with Chris Sale and David Price tabbed for Saturday' and Sunday's games, Smith may see limited playing time over the weekend.

Smith is out of the lineup Monday against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Smith has worked his way into the starting lineup for five of the last six games, but with lefty Jordan Montgomery taking the hill for the opposing Yankees, he'll take a seat in favor of Joey Rickard. Though Smith won't be starting, manager Buck Showalter could elect to use him later in the game as a defensive replacement, especially if Rickard isn't hitting.

Smith is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Despite the fact that the Orioles are facing the right-handed Marco Estrada, Smith will head to the bench Sunday for a day of rest. It's possible that he's still bothered by the injury he sustained after being struck by a foul ball in the cheek during Thursday's contest, though we can't say for certain. Mark Trumbo will step in at right field while Wellington Castillo will take over DH duties with Caleb Joseph drawing the start behind the plate.

Smith (face) is back in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
The Orioles held out Smith on Friday after he took a foul ball off his upper cheek in Thursday's series finale in Detroit. He'll reclaim his spot atop the order and he'll take over in right field as well. Smith, who is hitting .295 with an .865 OPS against righties, will face right-hander Mike Bolsinger in his return to the lineup.

Smith (face) is not in the lineup Friday against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Smith remained in Thursday's game after being hit in the face by a foul ball, but the Orioles will give the outfielder the night off Friday in order to let some of the swelling go down. Consider him day-to-day for the time being. Mark Trumbo will move into right field to fill in for Smith.

Smith is being monitored after a foul ball hit his upper cheek Thursday, Eduardo A. Encina of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
During one of his four plate appearances Thursday, Smith hit a foul ball that came up and struck his upper cheek. Although it avoided his eye, he experienced some swelling which interfered with his vision. Although it's promising that Smith was able to remain in the game and hit a home run in his next at-bat, the Orioles are going monitor his status heading into Thursday's game against the Blue Jays. If Smith has to be withheld from the lineup, Mark Trumbo or Joey Rickard would likely occupy his spot in right field.

Smith is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
With southpaw Matt Boyd toeing the rubber for Detroit, Smith will retreat to the bench for a night off. Joey Rickard will fill in for him in right field for the evening.
