Brown went 1-for-2 with a walk in a loss to the Red Sox on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Brown's night at the plate wasn't remarkable by any stretch, but he was one of the few productive hitters for the Athletics during another low-scoring night. The 29-year-old has actually been a consistent presence on the basepaths of late, as he's now reached safely in five of the last six games.

Brown is not in the lineup Monday against the Astros, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brown hits the bench against lefty Framber Valdez. He'd been in the lineup against two of the previous three southpaws the Athletics faced, but he's still mostly in a platoon role, as he's only started against four out of 17 southpaws overall this year. Christian Bethancourt gets the nod at first base.

Brown went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk in a loss to the Rangers on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Brown extended his hot stretch with his third double in the last four games and fourth extra-base hit overall in that span. The 29-year-old now boasts a .343/.395/.714 slash line with eight extra-base hits and six RBI across the last 11 games.

Brown is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rangers, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brown went 2-for-3 with a solo homer, a double, a double, a stolen base and an additional run scored Wednesday, but he'll head to the bench Thursday with lefty Martin Perez pitching for Texas. Chad Pinder will man left field while Christian Bethancourt starts at first base.

Brown went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, a solo home run, a second run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old did a little bit of everything in the victory, taking Robbie Ray deep in the fourth inning for his fifth homer of the season before swiping his fourth bag of the year later in the game. Brown is red hot right now, batting .379 (11-for-29) over the last nine games with seven extra-base hits including two long balls plus two steals, five RBI and six runs, but making consistent contact remains an issue for him -- the surge has lifted his slash line on the season to only .208/.273/.415.

Brown will sit Monday against the Mariners, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brown sits for the second game, both of which have come against southpaws like Monday's starter Marco Gonzales. He's been in the lineup against just two of the 13 lefties the Athletics have faced thus far. Christian Bethancourt will get the start at first base.

Brown is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brown started the past five games and will take a seat after going 7-for-19 with a home run, a triple, two doubles, four RBI, four runs and a stolen base. Christian Bethancourt will start at first base in his place versus left-handed pitcher Patrick Sandoval.

Brown went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a stolen base in a 4-2 win over the Angels on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Brown singled and stole second in the first inning and gave Oakland the lead with a two run-shot to right in the fifth. The 29-year-old has now recorded two hits, with one going for extra bases, in three straight games while all three of his steals have come in May. Brown continues to display a knack for extra base hits as evidenced by his .188 isolated power mark.

Brown, who went 2-for-5 with an RBI single, a triple and a run in a loss to the Twins on Wednesday, is 5-for-12 over his current three-game hitting streak.
EDGE Analysis
In a testament to how deep a hole Brown has been stuck in offensively, the productive surge, which also includes a pair of doubles, another RBI, a walk and an additional two runs, has only served to raise his season slash line to .186/.256/.354. Nevertheless, it's worth noting that 11 of Brown's 21 hits have gone for extra bases after 34 of his 60 knocks last season did the same.
