Brown went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and a walk Monday in a 13-2 win against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Brown got the A's on the board in a big way in the first inning Monday, crushing a ball 427 feet over the right-field wall off Rays reliever Chris Mazza. Brown also hit a three-run homer Opening Day, and he has seven RBI -- tied for second in the majors -- in the early going despite collecting only three hits through four games. Brown hit 20 homers and drove in 48 runs over 281 at-bats last season.

Brown went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in a 9-5 loss Friday in Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
Brown's seventh-inning homer off Aaron Nola ended the Phillie starter's day. The slugger struggled all spring, hitting just .147/.171/.294, but still ended up batting fifth and starting at first base on Opening Day. With only a .227 career batting average, Oakland hopes to get another 20-homer season from Brown. That said, he has been exclusively a platoon player in his career and should continue to see the vast majority of his playing time against right-handed starters.

Brown could develop into the leading candidate to serve as the Athletics' primary first baseman in the wake of Matt Olson's trade to Atlanta, Jesse Borek of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brown saw his most extensive big-league action yet in 2021, logging 307 plate appearances during which he put together a .214/.274/.480 slash line with 20 home runs and 48 RBI. While his contact rate and on-base percentage clearly need work, the lefty-swinging Brown's power and 203 games of minor-league experience at first base could certainly help him state his case this spring for the strong side of a platoon at the position.

Brown went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Brown went deep off Jose Urquidy in the second inning and off Zack Greinke in the ninth inning. It was the only time this season he hit multiple home runs, and he finished the last six games of the campaign with four long balls. The 28-year-old concludes his season with a .214/.274/.480 slash line, 20 homers, 48 RBI and 40 runs scored in 307 plate appearances.

Brown went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Brown took Diego Castillo deep to right in the seventh to knot the game up 2-2 before Seattle rallied to retake the lead. It was his second home run in the last three games, and he's also put up four RBI over that span. The 28-year-old rookie has shown above-average power with 18 home runs in 108 games but is hitting just .207/.269/.458 with 44 RBI, 40 runs scored, four steals and 23:88 BB:K over 297 plate appearances.

Brown went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in Monday's 13-4 loss to Seattle.
EDGE Analysis
Brown gave Oakland an early lead with his three-run blast off Chris Flexen in the first inning. He had gone 15 games since his last homer (Aug. 18), registering an unsightly .526 OPS during that span. Brown is up to 30 extra-base hits and 43 RBI with a .729 OPS this season.

Brown went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and two runs in a loss to the Royals on Tuesday, his first start since being activated from the COVID-19 injured list Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The slugging outfielder had made pinch-hit appearances in both games over the weekend against the Rangers, so Tuesday marked his first start since his activation. The 29-year-old had been mired in a 1-for-18 slump over the eight games prior to his sabbatical, so perhaps Tuesday's solid night at the plate will help set him on a positive direction.
