Patrick Newman of NPB Tracker reports that Sergio Mitre is in camp on a trial basis with the Rakuten Golden Eagles in Japan. The 32-year-old right-hander hasn't pitched in the Major Leagues since the 2011 season when he was a member of the Yankees. He isn't quite ready to hang em' up yet though, so he'll look to rebuild his value in Japan before perhaps coming back stateside.

According to Tim Dierkes of MLB Trade Rumors, Sergio Mitre plans to throw for MLB teams in March or April. Mitre was limited to two appearances after the All-Star break last year due to a shoulder injury, but he intends to pitch this season. The 31-year-old right-hander owns a 5.21 ERA over 143 appearances (64 starts) in the majors.

Sergio Mitre will see Dr. James Andrews on Sunday about a pinched nerve in his right shoulder. Mitre was placed on the disabled list last month with right shoulder tendinitis and was diagnosed with a pinched nerve following an MRI. He believes surgery is 90 percent probable.

An MRI on Sergio Mitre's pitching shoulder revealed a nerve issue. He doesn't have structural damage but will require more tests. Mitre was recently moved to the 60-day DL and might not make it back this season.

Yankees transferred RHP Sergio Mitre from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list. He was cleared to make room for Rafael Soriano on the 40-man roster. Mitre was placed on the disabled list with shoulder tendinitis last week and was being sent for an MRI on Friday, so it sounds like the Yankees are confident he will need to be out for a while.

Sergio Mitre will soon undergo further tests on his shoulder. It doesn't appear that he's had a setback, so the Yankees are likely just seeing how much progress he's made with his tendinitis. Mitre is expected back in early August.

Yankees placed RHP Sergio Mitre on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 16, with right shoulder tendinitis. Mitre has been sick over the past few days, so he was likely going to be unavailable in the short-term, anyway. The 30-year-old right-hander has allowed nine runs (seven earned) on nine hits over 5 1/3 innings since being reacquired by the Yankees at the end of June. Steve Garrison has replaced him on the active roster.

Tim Dierkes of MLB Trade Rumors hears that the Brewers have received "multiple calls" on Sergio Mitre. Mitre was designated for assignment Monday, so the Brewers have 10 days to trade, release or send him to the minors. For what it's worth, Dierkes believes that Mitre "has a good chance of being traded." The 30-year-old right-hander has a 3.27 ERA and 14/10 K/BB ratio over 33 innings this season.

Brewers designated RHP Sergio Mitre for assignment. The Brewers had to do a bit of roster shuffling Monday with Mat Gamel and Zach Braddock coming up from the minor leagues. Mitre, who was acquired from the Yankees in March, has a 3.27 ERA and 14/10 K/BB ratio over 33 innings with the Brewers this season. There's a chance someone could make a claim.
