Doolittle allowed three hits, including a solo home run but did convert his ninth save of the season in a 12-10 victory against the Marlins on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old has really struggled over the last 10 days. He's yielded seven runs in three innings during his last four outings, one of which he failed to record an out. That's raised his numbers considerably -- 3.68 ERA, 1.41 WHIP. He is also 3-1 and 9-for-11 in save opportunities with 25 strikeouts in 22 frames this year.

Doolittle failed to record an out while blowing his second save of the season in Wednesday's loss to the Mets, getting charged with four runs on two hits, a walk and a HBP.
EDGE Analysis
After Kyle Barraclough put runners on first and second with two outs in the eighth inning, Nats manager Dave Martinez turned to his closer to escape the jam and protect a one-run lead, only for Doolittle to plunk Carlos Gomez with his first pitch. A bases-clearing double by Juan Lagares, an intentional walk and then a Rajai Davis three-run homer spelled the end of the southpaw's rough night. Doolittle now has a 3.43 ERA and 1.33 WHIP to go along with a strong 25:7 K:BB through 21 innings, and the team's season-long bullpen malaise may be getting to him as well..

Doolittle struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Saturday to record his eighth save of the season in a 5-2 win over the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Chicago manager Joe Maddon filed an official protest over Doolittle's toe-tap delivery, coming out twice to discuss the matter with the umpiring crew, but the distractions didn't faze the Nats' closer at all as he needed only seven pitches (six strikes) to nail down the save. The left-hander now has a 1.71 ERA and 25:6 K:BB through 21 innings this year, but it remains to be seen if MLB will force him to make any changes to his mechanics -- or whether any changes would affect his performance.

Doolittle allowed two runs on four hits with a walk and two strikeouts while earning his seventh save in a 7-6 victory against the Mets on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
This snapped a 6.2-inning scoreless streak for Doolittle. During that stretch, he allowed only three hits, so this was an uncharacteristic night. Fortunately, it didn't cost him in the saves department. Doolittle is 7-for-8 in save chances with a 1.80 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 24 strikeouts in 20 innings this season.

Doolittle allowed a hit and a walk, but he recorded his fifth save of the year in a 10-8 victory against the Phillies on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
He only has five saves, but Doolittle has been great to open this season. He's posted a 1.15 ERA and the only blown save he has came in a situation where he allowed two inherited runners to score during the eighth inning in a game more than a month ago. Doolittle is also 3-1 with a 1.21 WHIP and 19 strikeouts in 15.2 innings this year.

Doolittle allowed one hit and one walk but struck out two and didn't allow an earned run to earn a four-out save Thursday against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Doolittle was called upon to record the final out in the eighth inning with runners on first and second. He walked the first batter he faced to load the bases, but got out of the inning by striking out Paul Goldschmidt. He also allowed a leadoff single to start the ninth inning prior to recording three consecutive outs to close the game. Doolittle has just four saves this season, though he is perfect and has accounted for all of the team's saves.

Doolittle struck out three over 1.1 perfect innings to record his third save of the season in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
The Nats' bullpen woes had manager Dave Martinez calling for his closer in the eighth inning to face Ryan McMahon with two outs and a runner on second, but Doolittle blew the young slugger away on three pitches before finishing up with a clean ninth. The southpaw now has a 0.79 ERA and 14:3 K:BB through 11.1 innings to begin the year.

Doolittle allowed one earned run on three hits while striking out two across one inning to earn the save Thursday against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Doolittle was called upon to close out a three-run lead for the Nationals, but experienced some trouble doing so. He allowed three hits -- all of which were singles -- but managed to strike out Brandon Crawford to end the game with the tying run on first base. Given that Thursday's run was the first Doolittle has allowed in 9.2 innings of work, he should remain locked into the closer role for the Nationals.

Doolittle allowed one hit and a walk but posted his first save of the year in a 3-2 victory against the Pirates on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
This was his first save opportunity since blowing a lead on March 31, but in that opportunity, Doolittle allowed an inherited runner to score and didn't yield an earned run himself. He hasn't allowed a run to his record all year, as he has a 0.00 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in eight innings. He also has eight strikeouts with one save.
