Bouchard and Michael Toglia will both be included in the lineup for the third consecutive contest since the two were promoted from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday. In his first two contests, Bouchard went 2-for-7 with a walk. He'll need to string together some quality performances at the plate to solidify himself as a regular in the lineup the rest of the way.

Bouchard was recalled by the Rockies on Tuesday.

An oblique injury cut short Bouchard's first stint with the big club, but the Rockies are ready to give him another shot at the top level. He will jump right into lineup and will hit eighth while manning left field Tuesday night.

Bouchard had only appeared in three big-league games before straining his left oblique in late June, so it's no surprise to see that he'll return to the minors now that he's healthy. He could get another chance soon, however, as he's hit .324/.419/.655 in 39 games for Albuquerque this season.

Bouchard participated in batting practice for the third consecutive day Wednesday and is nearing a return to game action. It's unclear which affiliate he will begin the assignment with, or how many plate appearances the team hopes he'll get prior to being activated. Bouchard has been sidelined since June 27, and the Rockies will likely have to choose between keeping him or Sam Hilliard on the active roster once Bouchard is activated.

Bouchard landed on the 10-day injured list Monday due to a strained left oblique.

The 26-year-old will receive his first look at the big-league level after he performed as a well-above-average hitter (169 wRC+) at Triple-A this season, slugging 11 home runs and chipping nine stolen bases in 165 plate appearances. Bouchard will join the active roster as a replacement for utility man Garrett Hampson, who was placed on the COVID-19-related injured list.
