Mets voided the contract of RHP Scott Patterson. Patterson (shoulder) was placed on the minor league disabled list after just two appearances. He won't receive an injury settlement, and is likely to shut it down for the year rather than look for a role with another club.

Mariners re-signed RHP Scott Patterson to a minor league contract. The deal includes an invite to spring training. Patterson, 32, posted an impressive 3.54 ERA and 77/7 K/BB ratio over 68 2/3 innings this past season between Double-A Jackson and Triple-A Tacoma. The 6-foot-8 right-hander hasn't appeared in the majors since 2008 with the Padres and Yankees. He'll continue to serve as organizational depth.
