ESPN.com's Jim Bowden reports that the Indians are "working hard" on a deal for either Ryan Ludwick or Josh Willingham. The Tribe desperately need help in the outfield with Shin-Soo Choo and now Grady Sizemore on the shelf. Both Ludwick and Willingham would be sensible adds and would lengthen the Tribe's lineup a bit as they try to hold off comers in the AL Central. Ludwick played parts of three seasons for the Indians back in the mid-2000's.

The Red Sox are among the teams that have asked the Padres about Ryan Ludwick, according to ESPN.com's Buster Olney. The Red Sox could use a bat to play in the corner outfield and Ludwick certainly fits that bill, with a .795 career OPS over nine seasons. He's struggled this year in PETCO, posting a .240/.305/.379 slash line heading into play on Sunday. Ludwick is still owed roughly $2.25 million this season.

Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal believes the Braves could "probably" afford to acquire a bat like San Diego's Ryan Ludwick ahead of this month's non-waiver trade deadline. Although the Braves are reportedly already near their payroll limit, Rosenthal thinks they should be able to take on a player like Ludwick, who is still owed roughly $2.25 million this season, or Oakland's Josh Willingham, who is due near $2 million. Acquiring either would allow Atlanta to move Martin Prado to third base in the event Chipper Jones' knee lands him on the disabled list. Were Chipper to remain healthy and the Braves still able to land an outfielder, it would enable them to send light-hitting Jordan Schafer to the bench.

Ryan Ludwick notched his 53rd and 54th RBI in the Padres' 6-5, 14-inning loss to the Giants on Wednesday. The multi-RBI effort was his first in eight games. Ludwick finished his night 1-for-4, and is batting just .214 over his past 15 games. Until (unless) he's traded out of cavernous Petco Park, Ludwick will remain a fringe option in 10-to-12 team mixed leagues.

Ryan Ludwick hit a two-run homer and doubled Monday in the Padres' 4-3 win over the Royals. Ludwick is maintaining that 100-RBI pace despite a rather mediocre line in a poor lineup. He's batting .257/.323/.405 with 10 homers and 49 RBI in 76 games.

FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi reports that the Phillies, Mariners and Reds are among the teams that have inquired about the Padres' Ryan Ludwick's availability. He's almost certainly available, as Ludwick will be a free agent following the season after finishing out his $6.775 million deal this year. Hitting .255/.322/.393 with nine homers and 45 RBI this season, Ludwick is one of the more likely candidates to change addresses before the deadline.

Ryan Ludwick went 2-for-4 with his 45th RBI in San Diego's loss to the Twins on Sunday afternoon Ludwick has hit just one home run in 18 games this month, but has still managed to collect 10 RBI while batting .262. A streaky hitter who tends to homer in bunches, a power surge can't be far away for San Diego's cleanup hitter.

Starting at designated hitter, Ryan Ludwick hit a three-run homer in San Diego's 6-5 loss in Minnesota on Friday. With the Padres trailing 6-2 in the seventh, he tagged Alex Burnett for a bomb to deep left field. Ludwick's eighth home run was his first of the month. Through 67 games, he is the owner of a .259/.327/.406 triple slash. A trade out of cavernous Petco Park would do his fantasy value well.
