Jeffers was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox due to an unspecified issue, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jose Godoy was added to the lineup as a replacement for Jeffers behind the plate. The Twins haven't indicated whether Jeffers will be available off the bench, but if not, Minnesota will be down both of its top two catchers. Gary Sanchez is out of the lineup for a fourth consecutive game while he battles abdominal tightness.

Jeffers went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, a solo home run and two additional runs scored in Saturday's 9-2 win over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
He took Vince Velasquez deep in the fourth inning for his first homer, and first RBI, of the season. Jeffers has had a shaky start to the campaign, slashing .194/.293/.333 through 41 plate appearances, but with Gary Sanchez (abdomen) not making much of an impact at the plate either, the door is still open for either one to get hot and seize a bigger share of the work behind the plate.

Jeffers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Jeffers will take a seat for the third time in six games while Gary Sanchez gets a turn behind the plate. Though his superior defense should be enough to earn him at least a handful of starts per week, Jeffers isn't yet offering much from a fantasy standpoint. He's gone hitless with five strikeouts in 10 at-bats over his past three games and is slashing .158/.238/.158 on the season.

Jeffers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
With the Dodgers and Twins playing a day game after a night game in the series finale, Jeffers will be getting a breather after he spent all nine innings of Tuesday's 7-2 loss behind the dish. Gary Sanchez will pick up his third start of the season at catcher Wednesday after serving as the Twins' designated hitter Tuesday.

Jeffers is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mariners, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
He'll take a seat for the first time in 2022 after starting the Twins' first three games at either catcher or designated hitter. Jeffers' superior defense may give him the upper hand on Gary Sanchez for playing time behind the dish, but the former's high strikeout rate will make it difficult to count on him for fantasy purposes as anything more than No. 2 catcher in most mixed leagues.

Jeffers will have added competition at catcher ahead of the 2022 campaign after the Twins acquired Gary Sanchez from the Yankees on Sunday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jeffers briefly appeared poised to serve as the Twins' top catcher after the team traded Mitch Garver to the Rangers on Saturday, but Sanchez should now be in the mix for playing time as well. Although Sanchez has been productive earlier in his career, he's lost out on playing time to Kyle Higashioka in recent seasons. As a result, Nightengale reports that Sanchez will serve as a backup catcher and designated hitter to begin the year, meaning that Jeffers should still have the chance to carve out a significant amount of playing time behind the dish.

Jeffers may head into the season as Minnesota's clear top backstop, following Saturday's trade that sent Mitch Garver to Texas.
EDGE Analysis
This move was a big boost for Jeffers' fantasy value, barring any other moves to bring in a catcher. The Twins' only other catchers on the 40-man roster are Ben Rortvedt and Tomas Telis. Jeffers hit .273 in 2020 but regressed in 2021, hitting .199 with a 36.9 K%. Even so, he had nothing but success in the minors and is a great defensive catcher, so the playing time will likely be there.

Jeffers will start at catcher and bat seventh Wednesday against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Though he'll get the starting nod behind the dish in the series finale in Chicago, Jeffers is expected to see a drop in playing time over the final week and a half of the season after No. 1 backstop Mitch Garver was reinstated from the injured list Tuesday. While Garver was on the shelf, Jeffers slashed .156/.206/.281 with two home runs, seven runs and five RBI over a stretch of 21 games.

Jeffers is not starting Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
An 0-for-4, three-strikeout performance Saturday lowered Jeffers' average to .233 with two doubles, a home run and four RBI in his last 10 games. Ben Rortvedt is catching and batting ninth Sunday.

Jeffers went 3-for-3 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and four RBI during a 6-3 win over Cleveland in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader.
EDGE Analysis
After getting the Twins on the board with a two-run double in the fourth inning, Jeffers capped the scoring on the night with a two-run blast to center field off Trevor Stephan. It was the 24-year-old catcher's first multi-hit performance since Aug. 4, while the multi-RBI effort was his first since July 31. Jeffers has supplied some power this season with 13 homers and 34 RBI through 76 games, but his .202/.275/.408 slash line limits his usefulness to deep fantasy formats.
